Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

come on children, get your acts together.
the sabre-rattling with argentina will die down and/or be resolved one way or another.

markymar - 03 Feb 2010 09:38 - 448 of 6294

The question is 'Will the Argentine threat put off investors?' (many of whom are fickle private retail.)
Quite clearly HMG will protect the interests of british protectorates (particularly when they are sitting on large oil reserves), but a large Argentine task force would considerably knock the sp, imo.

I would tell them to get stuffed !......they have a damn cheek.....the Argentinians broke every rule in the book as far as the geneva convention goes in that war and now they have the impudence to call the British ambassador over.....lucky for them it's not me that has to go over there.

I think we need a diversion like we've invaded the Galapagos Islands with Jordan at the helm...and the Ecuadorans need the urgent help of the Argentinian navy for a couple of years...phew !....that'll keep them occupied....
