THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Some logic is simply inescapable.

i feel sorry for anyone holding shares in high street retailers. just been to the trafford centre and the vast majority of shops have big sales on which cannot be good for margin. add to that the distinct lack of people with shopping bags and the picture becomes a bit grim. car firms closing down or reducing labour, big redundances announced ....... start of a recession or just a bit of a bad time?

hewittalan6 - 26 Apr 2006 19:39 - 4514 of 81564

I feel sorry for anyone who has to go shopping!!!

explosive - 26 Apr 2006 20:09 - 4515 of 81564

I agree with Alan, however todays problems all stem from an over populated country. One day the government will wake up and figure, less people lower NHS bills, less people less demand for fuel, lower house prices less crime!! OK I know the logic is simple and its a little more complicated than this but hey lets be real about the cause before trying to tackle the problem....

moneyplus - 26 Apr 2006 20:32 - 4516 of 81564

total waste of space this lot-they'll never wake up we are expected to listen to their preaching and believe it all! lower taxes results in a higher gov. take as people would not try to avoid it--the black economy is all that's flourishing thanks to Bliar and Brown. I think we're on the verge of recession and if the housing market continues to drop--we'll be in one!!

chocolat - 26 Apr 2006 22:41 - 4517 of 81564

What do you mean "we're on the verge"??
Wake up - we're in it.

jimmy b - 26 Apr 2006 22:43 - 4518 of 81564

And to boot we have hundreds , if not thousands of foreign criminals on the streets and plenty more coming in every day ...

Bos
It must be where you live, in my local shopping centre you are lucky if you can get your car parked let alone shop.

chocolat - 26 Apr 2006 23:01 - 4520 of 81564

Oh no, driver - at the Trafford Centre you're lucky if you ever find your car again once you've parked it.

jimmy b - 26 Apr 2006 23:01 - 4521 of 81564

hewittalan6 - 27 Apr 2006 08:04 - 4524 of 81564

Hmmmm.
I live very near to the white rose centre and am dragged there all too often.
There is something about the way people slouch around the malls with vacant looks on their faces and a hand full of donuts and a 4 gallon carton of some thick and sickly sweet drink that puts me in mind of a certain film.
If they ever re-make "zombie - flesh eaters" with a cast full of gormless cattle, chewing the cud they will not need to spend anything on casting or location.
Our shopping centre on a Sunday afternoon fits the bill perfectly.
"Would you like fries with that"?

hewittalan6 - 27 Apr 2006 15:17 - 4525 of 81564

Someone else has had a good day - apparently all of you back in Blighty voted Keira Knightley the world's sexiest woman, according to German MSN quoting FHM.

Here's the link if you can't see the pic.

Too bony, IMO, but WDIK, PDYOR.
