New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Hi Kim,

I take it you are aware of that well know saying, 'Where there is life, there is hope'.

The trouble is, no amount of hopeing will save Biome as it is already dead.

kimoldfield - 05 Jul 2013 07:50 - 459 of 644

Could there be a miracle raising from the dead in the offing Greek? Probably not or definitely not?! :o)

greekman - 05 Jul 2013 16:53 - 460 of 644

I know that Jesus was supposed to have fed the 5 thousand and raised Lazarus from the dead, but I think even he would fail to raise Biome from its present state of zombiism.

But if he did, that would be the miracle of all miracles!

I think this chap might have had a better chance!

skinny - 16 Jul 2013 15:17 - 464 of 644

One of my accounts was worth over £2m this morning - and then.......

skinny - 16 Jul 2013 16:11 - 465 of 644

Now showing as up 214185.7% - if only!!

Shortie - 16 Jul 2013 16:18 - 466 of 644

My final word. Wonder if I can short it??

kimoldfield - 16 Jul 2013 18:56 - 467 of 644

Well, upwards and onwards from here or down and out; will it be a straight flush! :o)

3 monkies - 17 Jul 2013 08:03 - 468 of 644

Looks like my biome has got flushed out of the Halifax Sharedealing Portfolio £2,106.51 seems to have disappeared today I couldn't have had enough shares for the consolidation mmmmm!!!!! Or perhaps they are still working on it, I am at a loss more ways than one.

kimoldfield - 17 Jul 2013 08:20 - 469 of 644

3m, they exchanged every 430,000 Existing Ordinary Shares that you held for one Consolidated Ordinary Share.
Immediately following the Consolidation, each Consolidated Ordinary Share was sub-divided into 177 New Ordinary Shares and 177 Deferred Shares.

Anything less than 430,000 shares were wiped out.

Shady dealings but what else would you expect with this lot!

skinny - 17 Jul 2013 08:23 - 470 of 644

Here's what I did with mine - it will save any future heartache!

Re my post 433 that was the way I read it and thought about buying more but was confused with the amount I had and someone thought I had more and what with my health I haven't bothered since - oh! well it is definitely down the pan for me then. What a sodding con job it has been. I actually rang the company 3 times before my heart attack and kept getting told the person I needed to speak to was on holiday and then twice got told the person I need is at a meeting and someone would ring me back alas that did not happen.

kimoldfield - 17 Jul 2013 08:50 - 472 of 644

You had the right idea Skinny!

3M, sorry that you've had problems and lost cash on this pile of poo as well. I hope you can put it all behind you now and look to the future with more hope than BIOM shareholders!

It is a pity that, whilst Stanelco had some good ideas, they quite obviously did no research whatsoever on the prospect of their ideas coming to full fruition; they just went ahead and spent millions manufacturing stuff that turned out to have no commercial value. Shame.

Shortie - 17 Jul 2013 10:30 - 473 of 644

Down 20% shame I can't short it, could get rich on the demise

kimoldfield - 17 Jul 2013 10:37 - 474 of 644

Should you perhaps change your name to Longie?! ;o)

Shortie - 17 Jul 2013 17:27 - 475 of 644

All my current bets are long at the moment, would be nice to find something worth shorting.

skinny - 18 Jul 2013 07:04 - 476 of 644

Blah Blah blah Blah...... Interim Management Statement

"The Board is pleased to confirm that the Court approved the proposed capital reduction on 17 July 2013. This decision will allow us to complete the process, which the Board believes will provide a clearer view of the Company's financial position and rationalise the unusually large shareholder base of the Company."

Nothing to do with the fact the just kept issuing squillions and squillions of shares etc!!

Shortie - 18 Jul 2013 09:53 - 477 of 644

And the reason why they have issued so many shares diluting us shareholders and company owners out of our investments is of course because the company is a LOSS making business with no credible board, strategy or product!!

'We continue to make progress with the strategy to commercialise and develop wholly owned intellectual property and our performance remains in line with the Board's expectations.'

Wouldn't it be nice if the Board were to actully outline its strategy, expectations and a timeline of when it expects to deliver rather than spouting the same old crap on every update.
