THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Al , direct a bit down south will you ,we're having stand pipes on the street this summer if we don't get about 3000 inches of rain .

You can bloody well have it mate!!!!
I have employed an architect to design an Ark, and am busy buying 2 of everything.
2 Donner kebabs, 2 barrels of Theakstons, 2 outers of Benson & hedges, 2 mucky wimmin..............you get the drift.

I've got you the two birds Al ,just working on the Beer and Kebabs .

hewittalan6 - 22 May 2006 11:57 - 4613 of 81564

Cracked it Jimmy.
I have found an old car jack from a Metro I used to own.
To my way of thinking, if I nip up to John 'o' groats and stick it under the top edge of Scotland, you lot will be downhill from me, and then it can rain as much as it likes here. You'll get all the water and i'll get to play cricket.
Alan to the rescue.........................

Good idea Al you should have been a scientist ,it's pouring here now, we need it .

Bin finking again.
I've been reading all about Phrenology, which is the study of skull shape.
The theory is that by feeling the bumps on someones head (prefer chestology myself) you can tell what kind of character they are.
Based on that I am going to open a reverse phrenology clinic, where for a fee I will give you the personality you always wanted. Armed with no more than a shovel and a small lump hammer, you can order a cheery outgoing personality with a touch on introspection.
Since you've all sold your shares, anyone interested in backing this venture?
Alan

I'm in Al ,,i'm all in cash at the moment ,waiting to see where we go from here on the markets.
You might consider hiring a good lawyer as your changing the shape of peoples heads with a shovel ,but its a winner for sure , you do come up with some amazing ideas ,, yes that's the word amazing ! .

bosley - 22 May 2006 16:03 - 4619 of 81564

truly !!!!

hewittalan6 - 22 May 2006 17:36 - 4620 of 81564

Just a wee reflection on the correction / recession / slump / disaster, call it what you may.
Its a bloody good job we are all so clever and got out in plenty of time (except me of course, who was still putting money in last Monday - cos I'm thick).
I have been reading the threads and almost every single poster claims to have sold up almost all of his equities within the last 2 weeks as they saw it coming. There are one or two honourable exceptions - Driver, take a bow, but almost to a man / woman / Big Brother contestant nobody will admit they got it wrong.
They may all be truthfull and I was just too dim to see the warnings, and no doubt a few are being truthfull, but posters who were urging others into shares, and forecasting 6000+ on the FTSE competition are now posting to say how clever they were to get out when they did (right at the top).
I'm not being at all cynical, you understand, just curious as to why MAM has such a high percentage of world beating financial commentators when compared to say, Goldman Sachs, KPMG or any of the other amateurs??
Alan

bosley - 22 May 2006 17:44 - 4621 of 81564

alan, you'll find the same is true when a share triples. you get all these geniuses crawling out saying how they were in right at the start !!! i've been selling up for different reasons, mainly cos i'm getting out of shares and into something else. i've only got one share left, pxs, and i'm just hanging on for a bit of a good time to get out. as usual , i will post when and why just in case anyone gives a shit. as far as seo are concerned there were plenty who predicted this and, if i am being honest, i wish i had listened a whole lot earlier. the idea is to make money, not to show who has the biggest balls.

jimmy b - 22 May 2006 18:27 - 4622 of 81564

I was out ,but by pure luck ,i took profits on DEBT because it had risen so much ,and was looking to get in on a couple of new plays (glad i didn't) ,i was holding a 50 per point spread bet on Charter and lost just over 4000 ,so over all i came out unscathed .

jimmy b - 22 May 2006 18:30 - 4623 of 81564

By the way not wishing to be smart but i predict SEO will finish the day 2p down at 8p ,with 7,397,157 shares traded ,i posted this at 10am but i think mam slotted it in here .

soul traders - 22 May 2006 19:40 - 4624 of 81564

Genius, Jimmy!

What kind of odds would you give for SEO taking a similar slide tomorrow when all the PI's who don't have daytime computer access get home tonight, see today's carnage, and boot their holdings out the door? Never mind all the red-braces-wearing people called Sebastian who are going to do the same in order to hang on to a vestige of profit on behalf of their managed funds?

jimmy b - 22 May 2006 20:38 - 4625 of 81564

soul ,i like to make my predictions for the day after 4 30pm ,i seem to be much more accurate that way :-)

soul traders - 23 May 2006 08:40 - 4626 of 81564

You remind me of Mark Twain's saying, "I try to avoid making predictions, especially about the future."
