THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Actually, you might have a point there jimmy.

The other day when bos was delivering a shedload of his band's CDs to the Priory, he stopped to ask the manager what was the criterion that defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalised (like you do).

"Well," said the manager, "we fill up a bathtub and then we offer a thong, a bottle of fabric softener and a salami to the patient and ask him to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said bos, "a normal person would put the thong on, empty the bottle and use that to empty the bath whilst eating the salami."

"Err, no," the manager replied, "a normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

Err, edited ;)

hewittalan6 - 05 Jun 2006 08:10 - 4658 of 81564

Glorious day.
Going to Bedford Autodrome today, to spend tomorrow driving some ludicrously fast cars!!!
Day includes Nissan 350Z, Caterham superlight, Jaguar JP1 Le Mans car and some kind of F1 motor. This is going to be one of the best days out I ever had.
If I survive, I will no doubt enthuse about it all when i get back on Wednesday. Just not looking forward to setting off all that way at lunchtime today.
Have fun with the stockpicking and this threads enigmatic and cryptic messages.
Alan

Al i'm really envious , it sounds like a Jonathon Palmer day ? and i want to drive that Jaguar jp1 ,fantastic, ,enjoy yourself and tell us about it when your back .

jimmy b - 05 Jun 2006 09:25 - 4660 of 81564

There it is.

hewittalan6 - 05 Jun 2006 09:32 - 4661 of 81564

You got it mate. it is the Jonathan Palmer day.
I've only heard good reports and that unlike many of these type of days, there really is no limit. You are positively encouraged to go as fast as you dare, cos the tracks are totally safe, no matter how far you spin off.
The JP1 is the bit i am really looking forward to as well. Jeremy Clarkson reckons it is completely peerless and has never been bettered by any other race car.
Wow.

jimmy b - 05 Jun 2006 09:39 - 4662 of 81564

Al JP was a doctor before he drove F1 ,(in Brighton) ,my sister worked for him ..
The bit about the track being totally safe how ever fast you spin off i'm not so sure about ,i'm just going out to get a get well soon card ,,now whats the address for Bedford General ,A and E unit i think.
