SEY had a tremendous wright up & recommendation in Money Week on Friday, obviously written before the advent... i am pretty shore the share price would have gone up instead of going down a little, & because the price is reasonably stable i will hold. Regards goal.

seawallwalker - 08 Aug 2005 12:47 - 4712 of 7811

I dont think it will hold.

I see this drifting down until the situation is made more transparent in respect of Sterlings interests.

Someone has said the Oil Minister is still in place, which may help matters.

Obviously the spectre of Civil War is never far away either.

You can't please all of the people all the time

Andy - 08 Aug 2005 13:37 - 4713 of 7811

Sey have still not retunred my call Friday, which hardly surprises me, but they did say they would!

Still holding.

goal - 09 Aug 2005 10:14 - 4714 of 7811

Business as usual.

Pond Life - 09 Aug 2005 13:41 - 4715 of 7811

Looks that way to me goal. Panic over. Oil is flying and my oil shares are all catching the breeze. What a nice day!
Betcha glad you didn't sell out.

Andy - 09 Aug 2005 22:31 - 4716 of 7811

pond,

Me too!

What I would like is some sort of RNS from SEY confirming the relationship and agreements made between SEY and the previous Mauritanian governemnt are still valid, and then we should fly!

seawallwalker - 10 Aug 2005 23:34 - 4717 of 7811

EVO apparently have issued a new note.

Anyone seen it?

Andy - 11 Aug 2005 00:09 - 4718 of 7811

SWW,

No, but I would appreciate a copy if anyone has it!

Is GAV around?

gavdfc - 11 Aug 2005 12:57 - 4719 of 7811

Andy,

I don't know if Evo have put out a new note or not. I tried to find out this morning if they have and get a copy, but the person I deal with is away on holiday until the 24th.

gavdfc - 11 Aug 2005 13:00 - 4720 of 7811

Seems they have put something out, just found this on Google:

Sterling Energy;Business As Usual -Evolution

Wednesday, August 10, 2005 6:37:28 AM ET
Dow Jones Newswires

1028 GMT [Dow Jones] Sterling Energy's (SEY.LN) assets in Mauritania are conducting "business as usual," says Evolution. Adds that although the bloodless coup may have been unsettling, it has so far had "minimal impact" on the Chinguetti development program, exploration drilling, or Sterling's relationship with the oil ministry. Thus reiterates buy rating, 32p target. Shares unchanged at 19.5p. (PBA)

Project Highlights:

Easy to Learn, Easy to Use Sembawang undertook the turret as a fast-track ShipConstructor pilot project. With only one week of user training, the project team was able to model the complex turret in less than two weeks. With each subsequent design iteration, the team was able to create a completely new 3D model of the turret in about one week.

Plate Expansion and Interference Checking The turret design consisted of many curved, thick steel plates requiring expansion and forming templates from ShipConstructor. These plates were also penetrated by riser tubes leading from the FPSO to the deep sea oil field, so full 3D modeling of the complete turret structure was imperative to ensure accurate plate cutting, plate forming, and structure and pipe interference checking.

Production Drawings and CNC Integration Once the design was complete, nesting and assembly drawings and NC code were automatically output from ShipConstructor. The project coincided with the commissioning of a new CNC machine at Sembawang, and ShipConstructor interfaced smoothly with it on the very first trial cut.

Sembawang is supported by ARL Asia Pte Ltd., ARLs ShipConstructor representative in Asia.

Andy,

Thanks for that, looks good! Here's a link to some pictures of the actual ship courtesy of 61pt8 from TMF.

And here's his take on how he actually got the pictures, worth a read!

Forum Energy Plc

19 August 2005

Forum Energy Plc ('Forum Energy' or the 'Company')

3-D seismic completed

Forum Energy announces today that a key 3-D seismic survey over the Sampaguita
gas discovery offshore the Philippines has been completed. The Company will
begin analysing the data shortly to evaluate the commercial potential of this
discovery, and to help identify the best location for a possible appraisal well
to be drilled in 2006.

Sampaguita is located within licence area GSEC 101, west of Palawan Island in
the South China Sea, and Forum Energy holds 100 per cent of the licence. It
lies 250 kilometres south west of the Shell-operated Malampaya Gas Field. Gas
has already been tested from Sampaguita during drilling in the 1970s and 1980s.

The survey was carried out over an area of 248 square kilometres by DGC Asia
Pacific Ltd, part of Veritas, using the M/V Pacific Sword. Veritas will also
process the results.

Forum Energy Chief Executive David Robinson said: 'We are delighted to have
completed this important survey so efficiently, and are confident that
state-of-the-art 3-D seismic technology will give a much clearer understanding
of the extent of this potentially highly significant gas discovery.'

This survey has been completed just two weeks after the Company listed on AIM in
conjunction with an 11 million placing at 112p per share. A pre-IPO placing in
May 2005 raised approximately 3.4 million at 100p per share.
