Andy,

I don't know if Evo have put out a new note or not. I tried to find out this morning if they have and get a copy, but the person I deal with is away on holiday until the 24th.

Seems they have put something out, just found this on Google:

Sterling Energy;Business As Usual -Evolution

Wednesday, August 10, 2005 6:37:28 AM ET
Dow Jones Newswires

1028 GMT [Dow Jones] Sterling Energy's (SEY.LN) assets in Mauritania are conducting "business as usual," says Evolution. Adds that although the bloodless coup may have been unsettling, it has so far had "minimal impact" on the Chinguetti development program, exploration drilling, or Sterling's relationship with the oil ministry. Thus reiterates buy rating, 32p target. Shares unchanged at 19.5p. (PBA)

Project Highlights:

Easy to Learn, Easy to Use Sembawang undertook the turret as a fast-track ShipConstructor pilot project. With only one week of user training, the project team was able to model the complex turret in less than two weeks. With each subsequent design iteration, the team was able to create a completely new 3D model of the turret in about one week.

Plate Expansion and Interference Checking The turret design consisted of many curved, thick steel plates requiring expansion and forming templates from ShipConstructor. These plates were also penetrated by riser tubes leading from the FPSO to the deep sea oil field, so full 3D modeling of the complete turret structure was imperative to ensure accurate plate cutting, plate forming, and structure and pipe interference checking.

Production Drawings and CNC Integration Once the design was complete, nesting and assembly drawings and NC code were automatically output from ShipConstructor. The project coincided with the commissioning of a new CNC machine at Sembawang, and ShipConstructor interfaced smoothly with it on the very first trial cut.

Sembawang is supported by ARL Asia Pte Ltd., ARLs ShipConstructor representative in Asia.

Andy,

Thanks for that, looks good! Here's a link to some pictures of the actual ship courtesy of 61pt8 from TMF.

Berge Helene

And here's his take on how he actually got the pictures, worth a read!

19 August 2005

Forum Energy Plc ('Forum Energy' or the 'Company')

3-D seismic completed

Forum Energy announces today that a key 3-D seismic survey over the Sampaguita
gas discovery offshore the Philippines has been completed. The Company will
begin analysing the data shortly to evaluate the commercial potential of this
discovery, and to help identify the best location for a possible appraisal well
to be drilled in 2006.

Sampaguita is located within licence area GSEC 101, west of Palawan Island in
the South China Sea, and Forum Energy holds 100 per cent of the licence. It
lies 250 kilometres south west of the Shell-operated Malampaya Gas Field. Gas
has already been tested from Sampaguita during drilling in the 1970s and 1980s.

The survey was carried out over an area of 248 square kilometres by DGC Asia
Pacific Ltd, part of Veritas, using the M/V Pacific Sword. Veritas will also
process the results.

Forum Energy Chief Executive David Robinson said: 'We are delighted to have
completed this important survey so efficiently, and are confident that
state-of-the-art 3-D seismic technology will give a much clearer understanding
of the extent of this potentially highly significant gas discovery.'

This survey has been completed just two weeks after the Company listed on AIM in
conjunction with an 11 million placing at 112p per share. A pre-IPO placing in
May 2005 raised approximately 3.4 million at 100p per share.

Liked the pics and the 007 from Oz.
Can only suggest that he goes into the shipyard on his return from Malaysia wearing a Petronus T shirt to get the treatment.
Thanks for sharing the story --- the ship looks good.

aimtrader - 20 Aug 2005 12:38 - 4733 of 7811

guys,

great thread this, really informative and a good read!!!

surprised Sterling have held up after the coup, and other oil stocks falling, pleased i wasn't spooked into selling any like so many were...

theres trouble in Ecuador according to the news, so they are exporting less, and certain US refinieries are having problems so oil price will bounce very soon i reckon.

thx for that post...i stand by the view that there will be no change to the agreements because lets face it, who would give up an economic agreement that would then see all multinationals pull out!

hold and prosper!

gavdfc - 22 Aug 2005 13:37 - 4736 of 7811

Dr Square, thanks for the Money AM link. Think we held up well here considering the recent sell off across the sector over the last few days.

Sunray41 - 22 Aug 2005 16:27 - 4737 of 7811

Agree with Prop comment --- there is no sign of anything else than business as usual
The only real threat is an internal push towards a more fundamentalist doctrine which calls off all normal processes. I cannot detect any hint of that.

Sotto is a dry one, tevet has a target underneath the previous target, Iris Marin is drilling ahead.................

"Premier Oil PLC
23 August 2005

PREMIER OIL PLC
('Premier')

Drilling Update

Premier reports the following in relation to its current drilling programme:

Mauritania

PSC Area A: Sotto-1 ST1 Exploration Well

The 'Stena Tay' drill rig drilled Sotto-1 ST1 to a final total depth of 3,279
metres.

At midnight on 22 August 2005, preparations were underway to commence wireline
logging. Logs and other data acquired while drilling suggest that the well has
not encountered any significant hydrocarbons.

Following completion of wireline logging, it is expected that the Sotto-1 ST1
well will be plugged and abandoned as a dry hole. Premier's equity in this well
was 4.62%.

The 'Stena Tay' will then move to the Espadon-1 exploration well in PSC Area B.

Chinguetti Development Wells

The 'West Navigator' drillship continues to perform completion work on
Chinguetti Development wells.

Exploration Programme

Joint Venture Participants have approved the drilling of four exploration wells
subsequent to Sotto. These are Espadon-1, Tevet-2, Labeidna-1 and Colin-1.
Tevet-2 will target a stratigraphically deeper reservoir than the Tevet-1
discovery well.

Pakistan

Jhangara Licence: Maliri-1 well

The Maliri-1 well was spudded on 12 August 2005 and is drilling ahead to a
planned target depth of 1,250 metres.

Gabon

Iris Marin Licence: Iboga-1 well

The Iboga-1 well was spudded on 19 August 2005 and is drilling ahead to a
planned target depth of 2,000 metres.

India

Jaipur Licence: Lakkhi-1 well

The well is currently operating at its planned target depth of 4,347 metres and
is being prepared for testing operations.

23 August 2005

Simon Lockett, Chief Executive of Premier, said:

'Following on from the two successful wells drilled this year in Mauritania
(Tiof-6) and Egypt (Al Amir-1) we are now commencing the most active exploration
programme Premier has undertaken. While the Sotto high risk/high reward well was
dry, it is adding significantly to our understanding of subsurface risks. We now
expect to drill a further ten exploration wells before the end of 2005 including
wells in India, Gabon, Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, Mauritania and the UK.'"
