New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

And the reason why they have issued so many shares diluting us shareholders and company owners out of our investments is of course because the company is a LOSS making business with no credible board, strategy or product!!

'We continue to make progress with the strategy to commercialise and develop wholly owned intellectual property and our performance remains in line with the Board's expectations.'

Wouldn't it be nice if the Board were to actully outline its strategy, expectations and a timeline of when it expects to deliver rather than spouting the same old crap on every update.

Shortie - more chance of striking a match on a rice pudding!

Shortie - 18 Jul 2013 10:19 - 479 of 644

Skinny - Thats probally inline with the Boards expectations.

'The second project required significant technical support in the second quarter to ensure optimisation of our customer's manufacturing performance in the USA. This project is now passing into the manufacturing phase and shipments of substantially increased tonnages for the second half are in prospect.'

This is talking about the single use coffee capsules which have been under development for the last I don't know how many years. Lets get real here, its a cup of coffee thats the end process and shouldn't be rocket science to make. Is it no wonder that they fail to commercialise products when they over complicate whats required.

I've always said this will be 50p by Christmas, looks like I might be right at last!

Shortie - 18 Jul 2013 17:12 - 481 of 644

50p before Christmas Kim, 5p by Christmas I think if its not delisted before hand.

hangon - 18 Jul 2013 17:55 - 482 of 644

This company has been JUNK for many years . . . and the sp manipulation says it all.
Directors are standing for re-election next AGM - sack the lot of them, to be replaced by meercats - at least we'd enjoy their antics . . . OR . . . has this already happened? maybe but without the video-feed, eh.
+ Stranger things . . .

Wiped-out? . . . who cares?:- Junk before, junk after.
...Rearranging the deck-chairs will make no difference....

Purchase of Shares following Consolidation

Further to the Circular sent to Shareholders on 23 May 2013, the Company has now purchased 102,483 New Ordinary Shares of 5p at 85.9p from those Shareholders who held less than 430,000 Existing Ordinary Shares on the Record date, being 15 July 2013. The proceeds of this purchase (net of costs) will be sent to those Shareholders as soon as practicable.

The majority of the New Ordinary Shares bought back will be cancelled. A small number will be held in treasury to satisfy imminent requirements to issue shares. As a result, following the above purchase and cancellation, the Company will have 2,339,794 New Ordinary Shares in Issue, of which 14,545 New Ordinary Shares will be held in treasury. The total number of New Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is therefore 2,325,249 (the total number of voting rights in the Company). This figure may be used by Shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Biome under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules

Capitalised terms, unless otherwise defined in this announcement, have the meaning given to them in the Circular.

The proceeds of this purchase (net of costs) will be sent to those Shareholders as soon as practicable.

Any guess what percentage of the gross value the costs will be.

Knowing Biome a big slice will be taken off.

robinhood - 26 Jul 2013 10:48 - 485 of 644

p & p will wipe out any proceeds anyway for those on less than 430,000 shares

maestro - 30 Jul 2013 07:13 - 486 of 644

how much is a pound of flesh worth these days?

3 monkies - 14 Aug 2013 21:33 - 487 of 644

A load of shite! ! Not you reckon this is going to be good.

robinhood - 15 Aug 2013 12:46 - 488 of 644

maestro - 15 Aug 2013 12:53 - 489 of 644

i just need another 10p rise and i'm even

hangon - 15 Aug 2013 13:13 - 490 of 644

Well, well, well those who've been wiped-out can sit on the sidelines and watch the Mighty fall again.

Leopards and Spots comes to mind.

As another poster has said "who will pay for this manipulation?" - why Shareholders of course . . . and Dirs will tell them at the next AGM that it was the silly number of small investors that drove the Co into the ground. (So please don't ask for potato peelings with your lukewarm coffee).

So, now we have NEW-New Biome . . . remember they were renamed to improve company focus and that didn't quite do it . . . so now they have stolen investors money - this was done in TWO ways: - firstly by Dilution, so your investment was diminished over time . . . . then by this massive CONsolidation which made the SP look rock-solid . . . er, until you realise there is a "Band of Jokers" running things, so don't expect any good news just yet, and plenty of time for the sp to halve . . .

If I had some "Giveaway" money to invest it wouldn't be here . . . I'd rather go with RBS at least you can smell the money at the AGM and a trip to Edinburgh might be pleasant . . . I could easily afford a discount train ticket, taking some of that returned from Biome . . . .
Biome - - - - Good Bye - Gone Home, more like.

Shouldn't the AIM-Regulators be tightening the noose round such goings-on? . . . I do wonder

3 monkies - 15 Aug 2013 13:31 - 491 of 644

Well said hangon - nobody can afford to loose the amount of money that I and many others have with this company - what disgusted me even more was the fact non of their employees would even talk to me to make a decision as to buy more or whatever before the consolidation. I know we used to laugh about biodegradable coffins etc., but at the end of the day they have taken so much money off investors it has been enough to put the punter in one - box I mean. Ah well what goes around comes around or so they say - we shall see. Gl in whatever else you hold, myself included.

kimoldfield - 15 Aug 2013 15:13 - 492 of 644

If this carries on going up I will be able to afford a turkey leg for Christmas.....I bought the rest of the turkey when I first bought Stanelco shares!

3 monkies - 15 Aug 2013 15:22 - 493 of 644

Did you make pate out of the stanelco giblets? I thought you got rid of most of your millions (shares) years ago kim at a small profit. May be my memory is confused!!!!!!!!!!!!

kimoldfield - 15 Aug 2013 15:33 - 494 of 644

Hi 3m, how are you? No I didn't make pâté but I would like to make mincemeat out of certain directors! I did get rid of most of the shares at a very small, instead of a once very large, profit! I held on to a memento number which resulted in 1 share after consolidation so I now hold 177 after the company kindly did a Subdivision to make it look better! They don't fool me, although I was a fool for holding on to any!
Did you get any cash for yours after they did the dirty deed?

3 monkies - 15 Aug 2013 15:47 - 495 of 644

I am okayish kim, get funny pains in chest and don't know what they are but hey ho alive. The awful Biome gave me £6.83 so I lost £2100.00 pounds ish. Great NOT!!!! Thinking of going to Wales for a break in the not too distant future a holiday home in Deganwy. Hope all is well with you.

kimoldfield - 15 Aug 2013 15:55 - 496 of 644

I hope you had the Doc check you over 3m? Mind you losing that much is enough to give anyone a pain in the chest. They should be ashamed but of course, we know that they won't be!

I hope the weather picks up for you when you go to Deganwy, it is raining at the moment! Our youngest daughter is bringing 3 friends up from London tomorrow with the intention of climbing Snowdon on Saturday; typically the forecast is not good!
If you get a bit peckish there is a nice restaurant in Deganwy with a bit of a French theme, Paysanne, the food is very good, well it was when I was there last year!
