SWW,

In fact I wonder whether Amevscap have bought those shares sold by Goldman?

Sunray41 - 06 Sep 2005 16:44 - 4837 of 7811

If they have then it could be stakebuilding with SEY as a t/o target when they are still cheaper than many others.

seawallwalker - 06 Sep 2005 17:28 - 4838 of 7811

So it is.

Tol' yer I was word blind..............

Can't get numbers rite either.

Andy - 06 Sep 2005 20:20 - 4839 of 7811

SWW,

lol!

a couple of very large trades at 16:30 today, which taking into account yesterday's jump, and prices, I have down as two buys.

Pond Life - 06 Sep 2005 21:03 - 4840 of 7811

Andy,
They look like two sells to me - not that that is any bother at the moment. Large stakes are changing hands at high prices and that can only be good for us. Someone clearly wants a lot of stock. Perhaps the talk of a bid from Woodside is not so fanciful after all. It would make a sensible fit and with Chinguetti about to flow now wouild be the time to make a move. Exciting times.

Andy - 07 Sep 2005 00:03 - 4841 of 7811

Pond life,

On today's trades I would agree with you. but due to their size, I wondered whether they could have been delayed from yesterday?

Until 13:00 yesterday, the offer was 20p.

Anyway, as you rightly say, large number of shares are changing hands, and the price was up yesterday, and held today, so maybe a bid is coming?

I would prefer another year before any bid, to secure my BATR!

seawallwalker - 07 Sep 2005 07:06 - 4842 of 7811

I also thionk there may be a bid on the way.......................

As previously stated, Woodie would be the number 1 suspects for me.

gavdfc - 07 Sep 2005 09:17 - 4843 of 7811

Interesting to see that Amvescap added to their already substantial holding here with the 700k. That is a decent sized holding they are building here. Not going to get too excited about a possible bid approach, if for some reason it was going to happen, would rather it was later than sooner, ie - next year. Bit of a low volume day so far today.

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 09:57 - 4844 of 7811

i think they bought it direct from goldman...simple sales call to an existing holder...

gavdfc - 07 Sep 2005 10:01 - 4845 of 7811

Well if that was the case and GS wanted to get under 3%, then it's an easy way for them to do so.

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 11:20 - 4846 of 7811

exactly, and also avoid hitting the mkt. thats the way the big trades tend to work and how companies shift blocks of stocks. when you use bloomberg you have an almost up to date list of largest holders so it is an easy call to make!

i have a free bberg trial at the moment. i didn't realise how much i missed it!

seawallwalker - 07 Sep 2005 11:23 - 4847 of 7811

bloomberg trial of what?

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 11:27 - 4848 of 7811

their bloomberg terminal. it is the best system but cost US$1700 a month for a minimum 2 years to subscribe. give you a clue, i won't be taking that up right now!

the system is fast, informative and you basically see everything the market sees at the identical moment. like level 2 but with all the bells, whistles and their messaging system to other guys round the market is awesome (i have got in touch with some punters i haven't spoken with in ages).

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 11:28 - 4849 of 7811

anything you need to know re holders i have now...please just ask...

seawallwalker - 07 Sep 2005 11:41 - 4850 of 7811

Who is holding all the Cheese?

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 11:54 - 4851 of 7811

what is the epic?

seawallwalker - 07 Sep 2005 11:54 - 4852 of 7811

YUM

proptrade - 07 Sep 2005 11:55 - 4853 of 7811

CDR? LSTR? GLSR? BRIE? EMTL? CMBR? EDAM?

seawallwalker - 07 Sep 2005 11:56 - 4854 of 7811
