From the latest company's drilling update....17 Feb
http://moneyam.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin/articles/200402170700084897V.html
Can anyone with mining knowledge explain these terms....
What does sidetracking mean? Approx how ong will that take?
Approx. how long will it take to correct a deviated section?
Is 'crude oil in shale samples' a good indication that there is oil?
Is 'Gas-bearing porous sands being logged' a good indication that there is gas?
Basically what does logging involve ?
Any views re AEX potential??
Regards
Stephen

Please ignore my mention about CEO purchasing - this was very old news. Apologies.

I was expecting a mark down in the SP this morning to try and panic some people into selling. Pleasantly surprised that the price has stayed firm, and on good two way business too !!

Supermono: the SP managed a 2p decline after all !!!
However, as expected, more buyers are coming in and we're on the way back up.
You haven't piled in some more have you ??????
Squidd: I notice that you mention CSB every time you post on this thread - anything we should be aware of ?
;o)

krypton: CSB is uppermost in mind because it's my front runner. Has gone up 4X in about 8 months, but nothing to add that isn't on that thread.
Meanwhile after posting 484 yesterday, I overlaid charts for all my high fliers on the AEX chart and decided that it may not after all be overbought; it is nothing like GMC for instance, which went up 7X in about 3 1/2 weeks. I think AEX has risen about 4X in around 3 months. This is all very subjective, of course and everyone must draw their own conclusions, but I'm still in AEX and hoping to stay.

Squidd,
Top man !!!!
Stick with Aminex as it is a very special case - chart defying even !!!!
If every share acted in the way charts predicted then we'd all be millionaires (and chartists probably !!).
No chart can predict what the North Korean leadership will decide.
If there is progress in the talks this week then every chart and overlay can be chucked into the shredding machine (except supermono's as I believe he originally bought decades ago at over 6 quid !!).
FWIW I am not predicting too much progress this week but, equally importantly, no back tracking either. Another date will be fixed for the talks to continue and so on and so on.
Longer term there can only be one way that the North Korean government is heading and that is to join the international community.
Assuming at that time little old Aminex has not been shafted by the Korean government or an oil major then I suspect even Supermono's original purchase at 6 quid will be a bargain (but that is quite a long way off).

Although the SP has dropped a couple pences this morning, I am sure this is due to some profit taking which is always expected in this kind of shares. There seams to be a lots of big buys, this could mean only one think. There is a big buy order placed. In the absence of any newspaper recommendations, I can only think of intuitional buying into it before the six party talks starts this week. I am sure we will get an RNS out soon to confirm the reason behind the recent rise.

Yeah I agree with both of your posts Kaysmart & Krypton.
Tempted to dip my toe in the water tomorrow morning, depending on how we open.
What a cracking share, since August at any rate! Perhaps Mono would disagree prior to that.... :-)

krypton: I mostly agree with you, except that I wouldn't be aboard but for charting. Look at the picture at the end of July/early August. An all-time/6 year low after significant director buys and then the jump in volumes. Many chartists would call this a screaming buy and a bottom fisher's dream. I certainly did and after reading about the tenacity of the negotiators with NK over many painful years, not to mention hints that the Russians, probably with useful seismic data wanted in, I couldn't wait to pile in. And so far it's been a most rewarding association, made all the more enjoyable by some lively postings and ongoing super newsflow. (They keep saying DYOR, but where else can you find stuff of this quality).

If you are a chartist you may be interested on this link http://tinyurl.com/dzrno,
I note on a different thread about the volumes over the last few sessions. Its states that volumes have raised considerably and the large rises in sp have gone hand in hand over the last quarter. It is suggested that now TA's will be attracted as the share price has broken through the long term down trend line on 20/10 (91p in July 1997) overcoming at the same time major resistance at 18/19p. The share has a rising 200ma line. Momentum has been high and many will be waiting for a pull back before entering the market. The optimum buy time was 24 August at around 11p. Well done to those who bought at that time. Rising sp on rising volume is good confirmation. The next resistance is likely to be the 42-45p area. So the current spread at the moment is 28.50/29p, not a bad time to get on board if you follow the chartists.
Ps Bugz are you in yet?

Still waiting!!! I just dunno......
Main problem is the short term news from NK IMO-I simply dont believe Kim is going to give anything in the talks next week-although an upbeat annoucement is likely, then denied the next day like last time! I agree that in the long term NK will have to have more to do with the international community, but until perhaps one of his son's takes over, I dont have much faith.
Having said that, I'm still so so so SO tempted in putting in an order!!! I was one of the lucky ones who bought at 12p, but one of the idiots who took profit at 18p!! LOL. We'll see.........

Bugz, I'm not convinced the share price rose last week on expectation of the talks progressing - but rather investors viewing the last Egypt RNS.

I agree with Greyhound, the last rise is due to the latest RNS and nothing to do with the six party talks starting this week. I dont expect much to come out of the meeting this week. There will be huffing & puffing from both side and they will agree to meet again in few months time.
However looking at the volumes over the last couple of months, my opinion is that with each rise there have been new shareholders joining in and some people like me topping up. But I am convinced, last Fridays rise has to do with a big purchase order, or we are about to get a very good RNS confirming some new deals????.

As already mentioned, just to remind people, the interims quoted " A number of other opportunities are currently under review and some are at an advanced stage of negotiation"
Since then we've had RNS's for Madagascar, Tanzania and Egypt. We may well see a correction from current levels or at best treading water, but personally I do not think it will be long before we hear something else.

Also out of interest I did speak to management re the rise on Friday and naturally there was no comment, however they were keeping a very close watch that afternoon fascinated by the activity.

Anyone know any reason why the sp has dropped a bit today? In any case I took the opportunity to buy some more again today.

Apparently the talks are not progressing too well with DPRK and the US still sticking to their previous positions...........this could drag on for a while yet.
Maybe China will save the day?

After such a fabulous rise, there had to be some profit taking and a breather. Not too bothered yet.
