DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Well, well, well those who've been wiped-out can sit on the sidelines and watch the Mighty fall again.
Leopards and Spots comes to mind.
As another poster has said "who will pay for this manipulation?" - why Shareholders of course . . . and Dirs will tell them at the next AGM that it was the silly number of small investors that drove the Co into the ground. (So please don't ask for potato peelings with your lukewarm coffee).
So, now we have NEW-New Biome . . . remember they were renamed to improve company focus and that didn't quite do it . . . so now they have stolen investors money - this was done in TWO ways: - firstly by Dilution, so your investment was diminished over time . . . . then by this massive CONsolidation which made the SP look rock-solid . . . er, until you realise there is a "Band of Jokers" running things, so don't expect any good news just yet, and plenty of time for the sp to halve . . .
If I had some "Giveaway" money to invest it wouldn't be here . . . I'd rather go with RBS at least you can smell the money at the AGM and a trip to Edinburgh might be pleasant . . . I could easily afford a discount train ticket, taking some of that returned from Biome . . . .
Biome - - - - Good Bye - Gone Home, more like.
Shouldn't the AIM-Regulators be tightening the noose round such goings-on? . . . I do wonder

Well said hangon - nobody can afford to loose the amount of money that I and many others have with this company - what disgusted me even more was the fact non of their employees would even talk to me to make a decision as to buy more or whatever before the consolidation. I know we used to laugh about biodegradable coffins etc., but at the end of the day they have taken so much money off investors it has been enough to put the punter in one - box I mean. Ah well what goes around comes around or so they say - we shall see. Gl in whatever else you hold, myself included.

Hi 3m, how are you? No I didn't make pâté but I would like to make mincemeat out of certain directors! I did get rid of most of the shares at a very small, instead of a once very large, profit! I held on to a memento number which resulted in 1 share after consolidation so I now hold 177 after the company kindly did a Subdivision to make it look better! They don't fool me, although I was a fool for holding on to any!
Did you get any cash for yours after they did the dirty deed?

I hope you had the Doc check you over 3m? Mind you losing that much is enough to give anyone a pain in the chest. They should be ashamed but of course, we know that they won't be!
I hope the weather picks up for you when you go to Deganwy, it is raining at the moment! Our youngest daughter is bringing 3 friends up from London tomorrow with the intention of climbing Snowdon on Saturday; typically the forecast is not good!
If you get a bit peckish there is a nice restaurant in Deganwy with a bit of a French theme, Paysanne, the food is very good, well it was when I was there last year!

Being a decent Human Being Maestro, I wish to congratulate you on being slightly in profit, may it continue and hope my hurt diminishes and flourishes in some other way shape or form.

I wonder what chance there is for a private buy out when of course the sp drops to a lower level than at present.
I say this as 3 holders now own 30% between them, so a buy out agreed with the board would sale through as there does not appear to be sufficient percentage held by PI's to stop any such deal no matter how low the price goes.
Of course I would not dream of saying that this could have been a plan all along.

From todays trading update.
In line with expectations.
Solid progress has continued in the Bioplastics Division.
Stanelco RF Technologies business saw a subdued end to the year.
From Novembers Trading Update.
In line with expectations.
Progress continued in the bioplastics pivision.
Continued subdued demand from the optical fibre furnace market.
The only diffence I can see between the two is now no mention of the coffee market or the business to progress with commercialisation and of course slightly different wording that says the same thing.
And of course the cash position is worse than 3 months ago.
We are again given the same old promises of the order book improving and of course the company is 'encouraged'.
I wonder how many investers are 'encouraged' by todays trading update.

Don't be too disheartened Greek, the rate of cash burn would indicate that they have another 2 years to make claims of great things to come!

Hi Kimoldfield,
Personally nothing Biome does bothers me as I sold out a couple of years ago.
Biome is the only thread I have ever continued to post on after selling out for the pure reason that they have never been a company that has played straight with the invester.
My sole purpose on continuing to post is that I want to warn others who perhaps do not know the history of the company.
I lost about £6,000 which if it had been a company that played straight, I would have taken it on the chin as you do if you invest in shares, but a level playing field, even for the lighter regulated AIM is not a term I associate wth Biome.
I have reported them in the past to both the FSA and the LSE after compiling a dosier of evidence regarding what I perceived to be rule breaking.
If the only sensure is a none public one then the complainant is not notified of the outcome.
I am astounded that this company is still being allowed to trade on the markets.

With contract scarce as far as Biome are concerned (I put scarce instead of none existant as I'm in a generous mood) I wonder how narrow any margin will be if they do get a contract.
They are hardly in a position to negotiate strongly as there are many companies working in the same bio-degradable field as Biome, as Biome threw away any lead they have years ago.
Just put bio-degradable packaging into google and see what I mean, Biome do not feature on the first 5 pages, I couldn't be bothered to keep looking further.

I understand a correction is imminent as it should have read 43.7p, mind you the sp will struggle to reach that high by this time next year.
