THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Steady bos ,,drinking and demolition don't go together

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 15:26 - 4914 of 81564

LMAO - can't wait, Bos! Now, let me, see, does Ryanair fly to Bolton?

jimmy b - 28 Jul 2006 15:27 - 4915 of 81564

I'm sending up demolition girl .

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 15:29 - 4916 of 81564

I bet those boots don't comply with Health & Safety.

jimmy b - 28 Jul 2006 16:37 - 4917 of 81564

Oh they do soul ,it's so she can't climb the ladder too quickly ,we would'nt want that .

bosley - 28 Jul 2006 18:08 - 4918 of 81564

soul, ryanair fly to liverpool/manchester. what time do you land? still plenty concrete left.
ahhhh, jimmy, i would happily pay her the going rate for her services ;) due to health and safety regulations i would have to get my big, red helmet out, too.

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 21:18 - 4919 of 81564

On my way now, Bos. Having just had a successful foray into the world of binary betting, I've got the money to pay for my ticket.

What do you mean, it's dark already?

There's a light in the fridge, isn't there? Okay, tell you what, let's take care of the beers in the fridge and tomorrow, if I wake up, I can watch you do some more demolition.

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 21:19 - 4920 of 81564

Quite right Jimmy, a lot of nasty accidents in the workplace are caused by too much haste.

bosley - 28 Jul 2006 21:37 - 4921 of 81564

and you can explain all this binary betting time decay thingy while we have a beer. is binary betting the same as fixed odds trading?

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 21:43 - 4922 of 81564

Indeed - but in case I drink too much beer and start talking nonsense, there's a very good explanation on www.binarybetting.com (my shiny new broker!) or also www.igindex.co.uk

The difference between the sites as far as I can tell: binarybetting.com lets you pay 1 a point and is quite relaxed and cheerful; IG seems to be a lot more strict about various things and wants 5 a point. IG does have a big pdf document about all kinds of exciting bets, though, which is well worth a read.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post on the "Binary Betting" thread (alas there is no EPIC). Can't say I'll be able to answer them all, what with three hours' experience and all, but I'll have a go.

soul traders - 28 Jul 2006 21:48 - 4923 of 81564

BB'ing is not the same as fixed-odds trading; BB'ing offers a lot more leverage and flexibility.

Visit This Page for an explanation of Fixed-Odds betting and a load of other useful links. The page is slightly chaotic, but should be of help when comparing the two types of bet.

bosley - 28 Jul 2006 23:49 - 4924 of 81564

soul, thanks for your reply, but i'll leave that for a while. i'm still learning about the wonderful world of fx. maybe next year. have a drink instead.

soul traders - 29 Jul 2006 15:11 - 4925 of 81564

Just what the hot weather ordered, Bos, thanks! (burp).

BTW, in case you haven't seen and are still interested, this week's Shares Mag has an article on Binary betting.

soul traders - 29 Jul 2006 15:39 - 4926 of 81564

PS - Bosley, that quote about low SP (you know the one I mean) ought to go into the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, or something. Not taking the mickey out of anybody - I genuinely think it's one of the funniest excuses I've read in a long time. LMAO here in Frankfurt. :o)

hewittalan6 - 29 Jul 2006 19:19 - 4927 of 81564

Bos. reading about the joy of FX?? Is that a spelling mistake???

soul traders - 29 Jul 2006 20:32 - 4928 of 81564

Al, if you say it out loud, it's a speech impediment.

soul traders - 29 Jul 2006 20:35 - 4929 of 81564

Actually FX speculation is the one thing with which I would not have a clue how to get started. I'd feel more confident betting on whether it's going to rain on my next birthday.

So, Bos, if you manage to unlock the secrets of successful FX trading and care to share them, I shall be hanging on your every word.

jimmy b - 29 Jul 2006 21:35 - 4930 of 81564

I binary bet with IG Index , have bet on the Dow or FTSE to finish up or down at the end of the day ,but seem to lose as much as i gain so now i stick to Boxing where i regularly take them to the cleaners ,,they often have fighters as favourites who should be underdogs ,i have spoken to the oddsmaker and he's no expert ...

bosley - 29 Jul 2006 21:52 - 4931 of 81564

soul, it's a piece of piss. you bet whether it's going to go up or down. that's it!!! i mean, just how feckin' easy d'ya want it? gawd, it's just so easy ..... not difficult at all ........ eeezzzeeee peeeezzzeeee........truly simple. there's a small group of us getting into it and we are all creaming it 'cos it's soooo easy. if you don't believe me , ask pete just how feckin' easy it is ;))

bosley - 29 Jul 2006 22:10 - 4932 of 81564
