Congrats to anyone who bought more this morning - what a golden trading opportunity.

proptrade - 16 Sep 2005 11:20 - 4926 of 7811

as a MM in the mid 90's and having some smaller companies on my book it was a cash dream every friday morning. IC came out, we marked up or down the stocks depending on the call. bought or shorted to are hearts content and then marked them back by wednesday next week, just in time for it all to begin again on friday. totally ethical, totally legal and totally profitable.

NEVER NEVER NEVER play follow my leader on tips. ALWAYS formulate your own view, your own entry and exit levels and most importantly BE DISCIPLINED about those levels. I am not saying you won't go wrong but it will mean you won't end up with a 20 stock portfolio of crap stocks trading 40% below your entry price.

once again i will apologise for my ranting!

proptrade - rant acknowledged and more or less agreed with for mass publication mags and papers. I have it say in RHPS's defence it has made a profit of 257% which is not bad - one man's profit is another's point of entry and all that. Overall TB comes up with some interesting elads on which it's been worthwhile doing my own research - some I've bought, some I've let float past me. RHPS's subscription list can't really do a lot of damage as we've seen today, the initail fall has been fully recouped now.

btw - what set of yesterday's gap down opening price - someone a little hot of the blocks with TB's thoughts, I wonder, or something serious?

Keep your eyes open if it breaches the 200Mda as this could signal a sharp move lower.

seawallwalker - 16 Sep 2005 23:09 - 4930 of 7811

Been there and done that, may do it again, if it does I buy back all I sold cheaper.

I am sure others will do the same, and that is why it won't happen.

We are not that lucky.

stockdog - 17 Sep 2005 18:54 - 4931 of 7811

Moneyman - "Keep your eyes open if it breaches the 200Mda as this could signal a sharp move lower."

"Seems that you are the one dragging the dirt ! You seem to relish on making trouble." Now, where have I heard that before?

Can dish it out, but can't take it - dear oh dear oh dear

Are we only allowed to post negatove comment when you think it's right.

Grow up, Babyman

stockdog,

SEY interims are this Friday, I believe, and I would have thought they will be an improvement on the previous excellent results, due to escalating oil and gas prices, so I would be surprised to see the price fall through the 200DMA personally.

I hope SEY will move up slightly when they are known.

Once out of the way, we are nearly in October, so possibly as little as three months away from Chinguetti production, and greatly increased revenues, so the focus will move there.

proptrade - 19 Sep 2005 16:06 - 4933 of 7811

creeping up on decent volume...

proptrade - 19 Sep 2005 16:09 - 4934 of 7811

they were 18.5 bid as i posted! now offered there...

Pond Life - 19 Sep 2005 19:35 - 4935 of 7811

Still private investors jumping ship after the RHPS 'Sell' recommendation. They'll be buying them back at 20p after the results.

gallick - 20 Sep 2005 01:15 - 4936 of 7811

Watch out guys. If the weathermen have got it right then Hurricane Rita (currently tropical storm Rita) is heading towards Texas once it has hammered the Florida keys. If I recall correctly Sterling has serious facilities in that area of the gulf. Of course it could be a buying oppo if it goes off course - but if i was in SEY (and i have nearly bought on a number of ocassions) I would keep an eye on the weather.

Doesn't look too good right now.

"Out in the warm waters of the Gulf, Rita is expected to reach Category 3, with 111 mph sustained winds, by Wednesday, and could intensify even more, forecasters said. A strike somewhere along the Gulf Coast is certain, unless the storm breaks up.

If Rita reaches hurricane status, it will be the ninth hurricane in the busy 2005 Atlantic season, which has already seen 17 named storms, with more than two months left to go."

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/09/20/rita/

IIRC, Katrina reached Category 4.

On a more positive note from this mornings HNR update:

"The Chinguetti oil development in Mauritania is now 88% complete. First oil is
estimated for February 2006."

seawallwalker - 20 Sep 2005 12:57 - 4941 of 7811

Gav, lets put Riota into pewrspective.

If it's 111mph winds, it will be 1/3 as powerful as Katrina, the platforms in the Gulf are no doubt buil;t to expect such winds so although there may be a shutdown, I expect there to be no other real problems.

As regards landfall, well, we will have to wait and see but again the buildings and infrastucture must be geared for this type of storm.

Ever optomistic because I would not like a repeat of Katrina and this time I am sure it will not be.

I am hoping for 17p buy in for some more though.

gavdfc - 20 Sep 2005 14:31 - 4942 of 7811

SWW, neither would I like to see another hurricane hit the area, not good for anybody, especially those affected by Katrina. We only have to remeber the pictures from TV to see the damage it caused.

From memory and if I am wrong someone can correct me, but Katrina was a cat 4 hurricane with winds of around 140mph. So if and it's a big if this reaches cat 3 with 111 mph winds then it may not be as strong but still could present a problem. I understand BP and Shell have already evacuated staff from some of their platforms in the area. Also worth noting that when Katrina first came to everyone's attention, many forecasters thought it would miss the GoM, which it did not. As to what happens here, we will have to wait and see.

seawallwalker - 20 Sep 2005 14:35 - 4943 of 7811
