Board changes at Gulf Keystone Petroleum

Gulf Keystone Petroleum (LSE: GKP) has announced that Todd Kozel has decided to stand down from the Board and not to accept the previously announced role of executive director after retiring as chief executive officer.

from the Telegraph

By Harriet Dennys, City Diary Editor , 18 Jul 2014

Gulf Keystone’s announcement that its controversial figurehead, Todd Kozel, will step down as CEO but remain an “officer” of the Iraq-focused oil company came as no surprise to one investor.

This was the exact plan he had presented to a source close to the Gulf board more than two months ago.

In an email seen by Diary, said shareholder suggested heading off “potential trouble” by appointing Kozel to “a new position at Gulf, which would allow him to continue as the key liaison with the Kurdistan Regional Government”. “That way, he would no longer be the CEO, but the relationship with the KRG would be maintained,” said the source.

This cunning plan would indeed allow Gulf’s board to have their cake and eat it, as yesterday’s confirmation proved.
No doubt the cheque’s in the post.

Good Morning GKP,rs

Gramachos, main question focused on AIM rule 11, which apparently states (not read it in full),
why was there no mention of water in the RNS,s that where released in reference to SH6 RNS,s

Gram, read out Rule 11, which states all liquids should be mentioned,

John, replied that it wasnt the policy to release "The Raw Data" appertaining to fluids noted in the findings, as they where minimal?.
Gram , pressed him further regarding the water in the logs, but john insisted that the water was minimal and in his interpretation the water was mainly from fluids used in the drilling process,
he went on to say that 350,000 Barrels of drilling fluids went into SH6 , and it was normal for some of these fluids to be in the "Raw Data,"
Sahara (oilmans wife) further press John G, by asking " can you categorically say that the water/fluids ? where that from the drilling ops, which John replied , YES! i can , he also went on to say that at the time time of the test the well flowed "Full Oil Flow" ,

Gram , wasn't convinced, and pressed again, most of it went over everyone's head , unless you where a Geologist, it was interesting, but i think the Company reported the facts as they saw fit at the time,

Tony Pearl also reported that before any RNS,s was ever released it goes in front of the Legal Team, and also the independent oil analysts (cant remember who they where at this time, its on the GKP site) for confirmation of being a proper account of being fit and proper for release,

that's about as much as i can remember, for now, and my own interpretation of what was said in between all the Technical stuff.

from my point of view JG answered the questions comprehensively enough , Simon Murray said that if Gram, wished to continue with the debate regarding the water contact, etc, he could discuss this further after the meeting with John, i don't know if he took up this offer,

From my position, yes it was good to bring the questions up, but we just seemed to be going round in circles, and putting more negative spin on news that has been rinsed and repeated before!

GLA LTH some other snippets to follow, from the da
