I have been in this one since my first investment just below 6p and been adding up to 28p.

Perhaps more should be aware of it?!!

mitzy - 07 Sep 2009 12:33 - 498 of 5505

Interesting article.

Time for an update on drilling...crude up sharply today $3.2 that's quite a lot and this one down on no news....could be in for a sharp rebound here....it cannot go too far down with all the good news so far.

halifax - 08 Sep 2009 15:52 - 500 of 5505

depends on whether you believe it, in 2004 they said they had found a 1 billion boe oil/gas field in Algeria now they are trying to get out of Algeria.

required field - 08 Sep 2009 16:21 - 501 of 5505

I can't remember the 1 billion boe in Algeria discovery....anyway it does seem that they have made a major disovery in Iraq and there could be more and there will be lots more wells to be drilled in other blocks so all in all this share looks like a beauty...I can see this going over a pound but whether it will or not is in the lap of the gods...I'm staying put for now.

watcher - 08 Sep 2009 16:33 - 502 of 5505

the rumours surround the future....russian buy out/approach.....indian buy out/approach....size of discovery....more drilling progress report.....and more wells to drill.....so waiting is perhaps the right thing to do here.....anticipate another spike soon

required field - 08 Sep 2009 16:36 - 503 of 5505

Yes..there are far more reasons to be positive than negative about this one, what they already have discovered is remarkable in itself....

mitzy - 08 Sep 2009 18:54 - 504 of 5505

Remarkable..!

BG has added around 600 million after today's RNS. Their offshore find is similar in size to that of GKP's onshore discovery. It's therefore evident that GKP has further to go from here:

BG reports excellent results at Guara well
Business Financial Newswire
BG Group and partners Petrobras, operator, and Repsol have announced that the Guara discovery in the Santos Basin pre-salt, offshore Brazil is now estimated to contain recoverable volumes of 1.1-2 billion barrels of oil equivalent.

During its drill stem test, Guara flowed at 7 200 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).

These flow rates were facilities-constrained, and test data indicates that a permanent production well would be capable of producing initial rates of up to 50 000 boepd, providing further evidence of the robust economics of this pre-salt play.

BG Group chief executive Frank Chapman said: "The well test results on Guara were excellent and underscore again the outstanding potential in BG Group's extensive position in the world-class Santos Basin."

Gone to sleep on this thread....let's try and work out some possibilities here : if nothing more is found at the bottom of this well : I reckon the sp will stabilise somewhere between 60 to 70p....the next well will be very much on the agenda by then.....if even more oil is found : another upsurge probably all the way up into the nineties again perhaps over the pound for a short while before settling down around the upper eighties...this is very much in the possibility of things : where is the negative going to come from ? EK's short can only be a temporary affair !.....views welcome...

cynic - 11 Sep 2009 11:56 - 507 of 5505

look at GPX in the meantime - lol!

TANKER - 14 Sep 2009 10:05 - 508 of 5505

they should of reached depth by now so rns should be out this week

watcher - 16 Sep 2009 15:38 - 509 of 5505

looks like the creep up is in progress.....end of the month looming and the interims will be out.....should be an indicator as to how far the s.p. will go

grevis2 - 16 Sep 2009 23:26 - 510 of 5505

GKP closed in NY at $1.25, that's 75.8p in sterling!

mitzy - 17 Sep 2009 09:44 - 511 of 5505

A general breep up is my favorite.

Toya - 17 Sep 2009 09:59 - 512 of 5505

Is 'breep' a new word to encompass both a 'creep' and a 'blip'?

rekirkham - 17 Sep 2009 11:00 - 513 of 5505

I think you are all taking a hell of a risk with this one now (GKP). I like the Company but at the price of 70P does not look like a gamble I would take. I banked my profit on GKP, but too soon.
Look at my old favourite SEY, they say they will be drilling Kurdistan in the last quarter, interim report due out at end of Sept ( like GKP ), once they manage to stick the drill into the ground the price should rise in anticipation of a find ( even if they eventually find nothing which I doubt, having several seepages of oil on the surface ). They also have Madagascar acerage with Exxon Mobile, acerage offshore Cameroon, plus mainly gas in the Gulf ( but gas price at about 7 year low and beginning to "breep" up.
