AFC Energy plc (AFC)

greekman - 22 Jun 2012 18:38 - 498 of 1468

Months ago we had a problem with RNS's for Arsenal Holdings being linked to AFC Energy as the epic was the same.
MoneyAm sorted it, but looks like the problem is back.
For everyones info (and my nerves), I have e-mailed MoneyAm customer support.

AFC & ICL to build UK's largest fuel cell facility

AFC Energy (AIM: AFC), the industrial fuel cell power company and Industrial Chemicals Limited ("ICL"), are pleased to announce their joint intent to install the UK's largest fuel cell facility to generate clean energy.

The facility, using AFC's low cost alkaline fuel cell system, will have an electrical output approaching 1MWe (one mega watt of power, enough energy to power 500 homes). It will be installed in stages at ICL's chlor-alkali plant which has recently been constructed in Essex to manufacture chlorine and caustic soda which have a range of uses including household cleaning products, detergents and water treatment.

"Franken-algae". Quite an interesting article - madman or genius!

Re todays results.

Looking good.
Its a case of 'Are we there yet', with the answer being, 'Not quite, just another couple of bends and we will be'.

Good to see that if cash continues to be spent at the same rate, there is sufficient to last over 2 years, and of course that is not counting any revenue that looks to be well on the way to increasing over the few thousand that the last 6 months has bought in.

I have always looked at the AFC Fuel Cell as a system that is ponderous to get moving, as it is a totally new system (thats the AFC model), but once it starts to move, which it is doing, will take some stopping.

Not quite there, but if you look at AFC's journey like a steep hill , we are not yet at the top, but we are a bloody long way from the bottom.

Doubt it will have much effect on the sp, as I feel nothing less than either a big contract or a few smaller ones will move what has become a fairly static sp.

Hi greekman
Yes i tend to agree, worth keeping a close eye on.

greekman - 05 Jul 2012 08:21 - 508 of 1468

From my last post,
Doubt it (the results) will have much effect on the sp.

Wrong, the sp has dropped.
God, I hate this bloody market!

cynic - 05 Jul 2012 08:48 - 509 of 1468

there are much better places for your money, even if sp has bounced ....... chart is abysmal

greekman - 05 Jul 2012 08:55 - 510 of 1468

Hi Cynic,

I don't much care for what charts say when it comes to shares such as AFC's where the sp can double overnight if/when news is released.
I take far more notice of charts when it comes to FTSE 100 type companies, where the sp very rarely moves more than 2 to 3 percent, in any direction.

I take it from your comments, you are no longer in AFC!

cynic - 05 Jul 2012 10:10 - 511 of 1468

no kidding ....... though your point re charts on minnows has some validity, looking back it is interesting to see that it was once "full of eastern promise", but like the fry's turkish delight of same, it delivered nothing but sickly goo and tooth rot!

Great RNS news.

Chelsea have a very impressive trophy cabinet with them winning both the UEFA Champions League
and FA Cup in 2012.

Would be nice to look back in a few years to see AFC Energy in a similar position in the fuel cell energy world as Chelsea are in the world of football.

As for Abramovich, he is currently the 9th richest person in Russia and the 68th richest person in the world with an estimated $12.1 billion, so he could buy up AFC with just about the same money it would cost to re-fuel one of his yachts (OK a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the drift).
£8 mill is chicken feed to him, so it has to be wondered just how valuable he and his advisor's who presumably mainly deal in many multiples of that amount, think AFC will become.
As someone has already said, great PR as well.

Another idea.........AFC Energy on the players kit!!!.

Greek - You mean he just wants to wind Arsenal up! :-)

greekman - 11 Oct 2012 08:20 - 516 of 1468

Hi Skinny,

Could be.

Had extra funds for last few days and was just waiting for the right time to increase my holdings.
Looks like I missed my chance (burger) as I can't see any chance of it going back to yesterdays prices.
Still I will play the waiting game a bit longer as I am sure profit takers will bring it down just a bit.

As to Abramovich, just think of the connections he has to open doors (via one of his minions of course).
It won't be a case of, 'can I have an appointment to see', but more of a Yes sir, when would it be convenient'.

niceonecyril - 11 Oct 2012 08:22 - 517 of 1468

Skinny i wondered about his reasons? Many have sold on news, looking at yesterdays
move(up 2p,10%),it seems prior knowlwdge, with selling for a quick buck.
