Tech;
I feel its worth waiting for the Eagle (EME)result before deciding what's best?
A good result and one will have to pay a premium, if negative a chance to top up
at a lower price. My firm belief is once the workover rig arrives it will rocket.
Looking forward to next week for VOG's expected results, although nothings certain it all points to postive news.

Technotamed - 25 Mar 2006 20:59 - 500 of 2511

I have been jumping on and off VOG since it's rocket upwards from 40p, jumped on after it's retrace from 130p. Stop Loss triggered and sold before a rise, jumped on and off, now on again waiting for news.

Trading only from October so still learning the trade and which traders on these BBs to trust. Several at my works trading, we have a running SP on our various stocks at the bottom of the dry white board.

Victoria Oil says results to be delayed from Well 104 on West Medvezhye project
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Victoria Oil & Gas PLC said drilling results from Well 104 on its West Medvezhye project are expected in May 2006 rather than in the first quarter of the year as originally expected because of changes to the testing programme.

'To maximise the information gathered at West Medvezhye we have taken the decision to drill an additional well at 104 and to conduct extended testing within the existing wellbore,' said managing director William Kelleher.

In January, Victoria Oil said the entire West Medvezhye license block in Western Siberia potentially contains recoverable hydrocarbon resources of about 1.1 bln barrels of oil equivalent.

Drilling has started on appraisal Well 106, with completion expected in April, and on new exploration well, Well 103, with completion expected in May.

Kelleher added that the company expects to report detailed results from the Danniella Field in the coming months 'when we hope to further increase potential recoverable resources at the project.'

Yeh ! what a bummer ! We'll need to wait another 2 months for the news we've all been waiting... SP will most likely drift down for the next 4-6 wks so will habg on for now as still in profit (just about!)

AndrewThomson77 - 27 Mar 2006 13:44 - 510 of 2511

I'm going to keep an eye on this through April. May get some interesting info from EGM and 106.

For now, risk is too high for me and news in RNS way below what was expected.

Summary from top of RNS:

Development Update on West Medvezhye Project, Russia

Fracture stimulation of Well 104 and drilling of a twin well to optimise
on-going testing with results expected May 2006
Drilling commenced on appraisal Well 106 with completion expected April
2006
Drilling commenced on new exploration well, Well 103, with completion
expected in May 2006

ellio - 27 Mar 2006 14:10 - 511 of 2511

Sounds to me like they are taking their time and making sure they've got their facts correct, maybe there's more down there than even they anticipated!!

This could be an amazing find!!! remember Cairn anybody

silvermede - 27 Mar 2006 14:14 - 512 of 2511

Let's see where the the SP support level is after the intial panic subsides and maybe top up again.

Lostandfound - 27 Mar 2006 14:26 - 513 of 2511

On the other hand this could be a 'cats on the roof story'!!

If they are, 'maximising the information gathered' they already know something that could be released if only to steady the SP.

Is that fish I can smell?

Still in though having missed the fall whilst unloading the wife's shopping - if only she knew!

soul traders - 27 Mar 2006 15:13 - 514 of 2511

Ellio - are you thinking of something specific with Cairn or just the dramatic rise in the SP? (Which is fine by me!)

My point of view is that I'm not into panic-selling, so am trying to look on the positive side: Firstly, there's lots of potential for good news over the next two months.

Secondly, although the Well 104 story appears inconclusive, it may be good news in disguise. I mean, surely nobody drills a second hole to almost the height of Ben Nevis without being seriously convinced that there's gas down there ????

Finally, Wells 103 and 106 will test two completely independent structures, leading again to the possibility of a gas hit. This in one of the FSU's most prolific gas regions.

Between these possibilities plus the fact I can't trade in and out quickly due to being limited by banking compliance regulations, I'm inclined to hold.

ellio - 27 Mar 2006 15:26 - 515 of 2511

ST,

Just because the potential seems huge, they are exploring in a region that is proven and as you say, they wouldn't continue to drill for no good reason?

I want the whole news not just a snippet to be able to make a reasonable judgement, but steady as she goes imo.

soul traders - 27 Mar 2006 15:51 - 516 of 2511

Dead right Ellio. I hope our optimism will be justified in April/May !!!

It's irritating when things don't quite go to plan, but look at NOP over the last six months or so - went through a spot of bother in the middle of 2005 but now motoring nicely.

myownmoney - 27 Mar 2006 15:58 - 517 of 2511

Soul, what is "limited by banking compliance regulations"?

niceonecyril - 27 Mar 2006 16:02 - 518 of 2511

Disappointing to say the least, perhaps to much expected from one well result?
But then the independant's D&M are known in the business for their cautious
estimates.
Agree with soul and ellio's points, so another month or two before we get to know.
The saying transfer of funds from the impatient to the patient might just
apply here?
