THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

:o) LOL. I hope your daughter is not, say, four years old, cos that would be scary.

I like the line from 'Something's Gotta Give' by Aerosmith, "Does the noise in my head bother you?"

hewittalan6 - 11 Aug 2006 13:13 - 5079 of 81564

Shes 13, which is even scarier, because she has that look that teenagers give to adults.
You know, the one that says "There are less worthy things in the world than you, but not as many as you might imagine".
That look when the t-shirt is on has me reaching for the whisky and checking the brake pipes on my car.

I'm quaking in my boots just imagining it, Al.

I'm sure she loves her Dad really, though. Her cutting your brake lines is just her way of getting Daddy's attention.

bosley - 11 Aug 2006 17:22 - 5081 of 81564

my daughter has a t shirt that says, i love my daddy. (awwww.) while i can still get her to wear things like that i will. she also has another one that says, i like to watch football with my daddy....... and she does. she loved sitting on my knee , watching the world cup with me. not that i'm brainwashing her or anyfink or trying to get in there early so i'm not outvoted and have to sit through every feckin reality show on telly for the next 20 years !!!! i mean, there's only so much love island that a man can take !!!

soul traders - 12 Aug 2006 11:49 - 5086 of 81564

That's enough boasting about tropical temperatures - here in Germany the temperatures have dropped so far I had to put the gas heating on yesterday!

Could be good news for my investment in EOG Warrants though!

Anyone want a sweetie?

hewittalan6 - 14 Aug 2006 18:06 - 5088 of 81564

I've found out where our money goes to waste on scientists.
We are paying for them all to go to Prague to discuss whether or not Pluto is a planet.
Get real. Its a cartoon dog from Disney.
How the hell could that be a planet?
What a waste of money.
Next.

bosley - 14 Aug 2006 18:14 - 5089 of 81564

absolutely. next thing they'll be telling us that your arsehole is a planet!!!

hewittalan6 - 14 Aug 2006 18:30 - 5090 of 81564

Or something sweet and sickly from the local corner shop.
Would you believe I once had a scientist trying to convince me I live on a planet!! I told him I live in Leeds, and not somewhere up there in space and he still insisted I live on a planet!!
call themselves educated?
Huh.

Amazing, Bos, that's better than the art on Playschool!

hewittalan6 - 15 Aug 2006 11:44 - 5093 of 81564

Saw 'em doing that by the pool in Mexico. Truly amazing, but watch out for your eyebrows, cos when they have finished they seal it by spraying an aerosol of hairspray through a flame at it.
WW2 flamethrowers are for pussies compared to that.

"WW2 flamethrowers are for pussies " ??!!??

one of their more novel applications, I suspect.

hewittalan6 - 15 Aug 2006 12:07 - 5095 of 81564

Our great heroes.
You must have heard the saying "to go down in flames".
