StockMarketWire.com
Jubilee Platinum and Sylvania have agreed a smelting and refining pact for Sylvania's new JORC compliant Volspruit deposit.

The two firms have agreed that a scoping study will be completed by the end of February and if they are satisfied with the outcome they will incorporate a new company and subscribe equally in it.

The Volspruit mine project and the smelter/refinery projects are inter-related and will be developed concurrently by Sylvania and the Sylvania/Jubilee JV respectively.

The initial reaction to the news is not positive --down a point -- but it has to be said that the mining sector is a bit on the down side this morn.

hangon - 26 Nov 2010 09:43 - 527 of 798

It's their agm today and judging by the Annual Report (which looks deadly boring), that will be as well; - so, by having it early-morning the Dirs can scurry off to whatever they do the rest of the year, or maybe take-in a little Xmas shopping - - - .

You'd think this Co would want folk to know about their developments - If so, have the AGM at Noon, during the summer, eh?

For similar reasons, that's why this is a poor investment prospect.

HARRYCAT - 29 Nov 2010 14:48 - 528 of 798

This seems like a method of whipping the investors up into a frenzy prior to bad news being announced!

"FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

"Shareholders are referred to the cautionary announcement published on 14 October 2010 wherein shareholders were advised that the company was in the negotiations stage of a possible acquisition of Power Alt (Pty) Ltd which, if successfully concluded, may have a material effect on the price at which the company's shares trade on the JSE Limited.

As these negotiations are still in progress, shareholders are advised to continue to exercise caution when dealing in their Jubilee shares until a full announcement is made."

dealerdear - 29 Nov 2010 15:29 - 529 of 798

How many times have they said that Harry over the past 6 mnths.

dealerdear - 20 Jan 2011 19:33 - 530 of 798

Further to the cautionary announcements, the last of which was dated 29 November 2010, shareholders are advised to continue to exercise caution when dealing in their Jubilee shares until a full announcement is made.

Yet again!
