either someone genuinely knows something re Sugarloaf or the lemmings are piling in regardless in anticipation ....... one thing's for sure; good job i am not short! .... lol!

troouble with this sort of rise, especially on no solid news, is that the anticipation nearly always gets far too far ahead .... as is often said, "Up like a rocket, down like the stick" ..... anyone holding, strongly suggest trailing stop ...... if thinking of buying, the make sure your brain is ruling your heart (aka greed!)

Big Ted - 13 Nov 2006 09:18 - 516 of 2087

totally agree Cynic, got caught with these earlier this year and bought a chunk @ 34p to ave down, have sold all the way up, including 87p this morning, just a small holding left, which really doesn't matter what happens to, but will also be gone if it tests 1...

HARRYCAT - 13 Nov 2006 10:30 - 517 of 2087

Thank goodness for lemmings then! My original heavy loss on paper has now been reduced to show a small profit. Someone obviously thinks that all this gas is a good indication of even better news. Rightly or wrongly, there is money to be made here, but as always, keep locking in profit.

cynic - 13 Nov 2006 10:47 - 518 of 2087

senible chap Harry, though a trailing stop almost does that, except when/if sp collapses

oilyrag - 13 Nov 2006 15:02 - 519 of 2087

Hi cynic love all your sarky comments brings a bit of reality back into our fantasies about finding the big one. Loved the comment about chp lisence to drill holes. On eme however you forgot lisence to print money. I made 400% profit last time round and am currently looking at 200% at the moment. Shame its not one of my major stock holdings but nevertheless not to be scoffed at. Its probably not to late if you still fancy a flutter.

cynic - 13 Nov 2006 15:09 - 520 of 2087

oily ...... can't remember whether i made or lost money in the past on eme ..... probably some of each! ...... however, if i dabbled now, i know the driving force would be pure greed rather than logic.

having now just had a peek at the "pretty little chart" that i posted, i note 200 dma has been hit and sp now struggling ..... not the time to buy!

oilyrag - 13 Nov 2006 15:17 - 521 of 2087

It appears to me that there is no logic left in the stock market. Even badly run companies have peaks well above their worth, obviously there is only greed left, so why not go with the flow and make some dough.

cynic - 13 Nov 2006 15:20 - 522 of 2087

is the flip side, have some frolix and do yer bollix?

hlyeo98 - 14 Nov 2006 08:05 - 523 of 2087

Yes very risky, cynic, starting to fall today.

cynic - 14 Nov 2006 08:14 - 524 of 2087

my suspicion is that sp will not hold above 200 dma as there is no solid foundation for the recent headlong rush upwards ...... i shall merely watch with interest

seawallwalker - 14 Nov 2006 08:20 - 525 of 2087

These oil sp spikers always fall back once punters have been sucked in.

I'll work out how to profit from that one day, meantime I am just interested to watch.

Big Ted - 14 Nov 2006 08:37 - 526 of 2087

buy when red, sell when green, always do the opposite of what your brain tells you...!

cynic - 14 Nov 2006 08:46 - 527 of 2087

in this instance, i think it best just to watch ...... many better shares to buy

Big Al - 14 Nov 2006 08:58 - 528 of 2087

I take it we'll get our weekly update tomorrow?

Big Al - 15 Nov 2006 08:09 - 529 of 2087

ttt

cynic - 15 Nov 2006 08:15 - 530 of 2087

and singularly exciting reading that wasn't too!
and the prompt sharp dip in sp shows the fragility of the stock and the recent steep rise

Big Al - 15 Nov 2006 08:18 - 531 of 2087

cynic

Interesting change this week, don't you think. I'm not trying to read anything into it. ;-)

cynic - 15 Nov 2006 08:33 - 532 of 2087

Al .... like you, i just watch this one with interest ...... don't think even my greed will tempt me in here

HARRYCAT - 15 Nov 2006 09:10 - 533 of 2087

IMO if it drops back to the 50-60p range it could well be worth having another small stake just to cover the next bounce up. It may be totally illogical, but if the sp moves up on the merest whiff of gas, then why not take advantage???!

Big Al - 15 Nov 2006 09:30 - 534 of 2087

You do have a point HARRY. ;-)

We're in week #3 of the updates through the target section. No mention of gas today - is that deliberate? Dunno, but it jumped right out at me at 7am this morning. ;-0
