THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Bos, all right, you win, it's the robot.

Although I think a pair of stick-on false eyelashes would be an improvement.

Al, round our way the kids have figured out how to drop a grand piano off a rooftop and have it only fall towards you if you look at it.

Very usefull skill, that.
Can they run off cliff edges, like Wile Coyote and not fall until they look down and then wave for the camera.
I mean, Tom & Jerry. What would childhood be without Tom & Jerry?
If they are going to edit out scenes that are not PC, what about the stereotypical Deep South Housemaid, or the gratuitous violence, or the hourglass females and the way Tom forces his affections on them with sexual harrassment.
Rape, racism and violence are now things of the past in our society and all the worlds ills can now be sorted by stopping kids having a swift Woodbine and coughing up bits of lung. You ask OFCOM.

I saw a lot of Wile E Coyote when I was younger. I think it's a subliminal message by Islamic terrorist organisations, telling kids that dynamite can solve all your problems.

I remeber being baffled as a kid when I saw the range in our local chippy was made by ACME. I wondered what the hell that had to do with catching roadrunners, and I never ate a chicken portion from there again.

LOL !!! - sorry, have completely run out of inspiration as am still LMAO after our little exchange on SEO :O)

hewittalan6 - 22 Aug 2006 14:25 - 5204 of 81564

There was a great thread for that kind of thing called "the more intelligent", started by that arch einstein, Driver. Now that was funny!!

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 14:28 - 5205 of 81564

I remember it well - your quantum physics arguments left me gasping for breath (I only studied law + French, so am quite low down the intellectual food-chain).

Perhaps you should resurrect it and treat us all to something high-brow :o)

hewittalan6 - 22 Aug 2006 14:37 - 5206 of 81564

Don't know if you have noticed but SEO is blue as I type.
This is a technical hitch that the management are trying hard to rectify and normal service should be resumed shortly.
SEO apologise for any inconvenience.

:o) Too busy reading about how rich I am going to get with SOLA - ADVFN fascinating (in places).

bosley - 22 Aug 2006 14:59 - 5208 of 81564

soul, you've not ramped sola for 30 seconds! you must be getting withdrawal symptons !!!!!!

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 15:01 - 5209 of 81564

Bos, that's right, I have been reading up on ADVFN how to make my ramps even more effective. :o)

Anyway, I don't need to ramp - SOLA very kindly told us exactly how much profit they are going to be making in the near future. The rest is simple arithmetic.

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 15:09 - 5210 of 81564

PS Bosley, just to set the record straight, since it's difficult to interpret mood through a monitor screen, I hope you realise I would never intentionally "ramp", i.e. attempt to make people buy a stock by making statements I did not believe in.

I happen to be excited about SOLA's prospects, but I have been careful to be conservative in my suggestions about its likely performance and have always invited people to DTOR and criticise if they feel I'm wrong.

Interestingly, the most "ramping" taking place on ADVFN is actually deramping - most of the bulls at least have figures on their side, while the insults are being thrown by the bears.

bosley - 22 Aug 2006 16:06 - 5211 of 81564

soul, ain't nuffink wrong with a good ramp every now and again :))

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 19:27 - 5212 of 81564

LOL - well, you're right, I'm just a bit shy about owning up to it in public :o)

A few good ramps on this site.
