Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

HARRYCAT - 16 Sep 2011 11:33 - 5267 of 6294

I wish, Bb! I remember the Falklands conflict, so that firmly removes me from the 'cool young dudes' category!

skinny - 16 Sep 2011 12:27 - 5268 of 6294

God I feel old now !

greekman - 16 Sep 2011 20:05 - 5269 of 6294

aldwickk - 17 Sep 2011 12:41 - 5270 of 6294

When our troop's left for the Falkand's , and all the people at Portsmouth were cheering and the band's were playing. I thought to myself what a lot of fuss , all that will happen is it will all settled by negotiation, never thought there would be a war.

You have Maggie to thank for that...... the Iron Lady at least she stood her ground.

aldwickk - 18 Sep 2011 12:59 - 5272 of 6294

If she was in power , would we still be in the EU or have spent 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan ? Would she have overthrown Mugabe .

skinny - 19 Sep 2011 11:40 - 5273 of 6294

No, no and yes.

Bad news for petrol sales, fist public hydrogen fuel station opens in Swindon, in 4 years time when many of the oilies are on line with oil, that will be the wrong line to be in

HARRYCAT - 20 Sep 2011 14:51 - 5275 of 6294

Except that they (the big boys) will just go on the acquisition trail and buy into that technology if they think it is going to be a goer.

Time Traveller - 20 Sep 2011 15:42 - 5276 of 6294

But I think they said in the interview on TV that it will be 30 to 35 years before Hydrogen cars are likely to be available and supplied with fuel by a network of "Filling Stations" in Europe. That and there are only 2 cars in the world and each cost millions to develop. Maybe in my sons generation!

aldwickk - 20 Sep 2011 20:28 - 5278 of 6294

Like the bomb

Toya - 20 Sep 2011 20:52 - 5279 of 6294

I see you've come back with a bang then Mr C. I'm glad some others here are not feeling too young either... but even so, I reckon we'll reap some decent rewards from RKH within 4-5 years, so hopefully still within my lifetime :)

Not looking too promising so far this week though

markymar - 20 Sep 2011 22:32 - 5280 of 6294

Back to RKH.......should get an RNS tomorrow of spud....the boys are doing a great job at moment when u think about it, they did it in 14 days on last drill so any RNS saying 30 days maybe a lot shorter the way the lads are cracking on....also saving money.

gildph - 20 Sep 2011 22:56 - 5281 of 6294

Seriously what news is the market waiting for - I can't believe the price is low less than half the high and now we know so much more!!! Can anyone help? I know the markets have been in a terrible state the last few months but still can understand the current price...
