I have reported them to support by they do nothing, either because they want to force me to PAY them for the Traders Room or because they are too lazy to do anything. Maybe the people in support are the ones perpetrating the abuse, so as to force people to pay for the premium boards. Either way the service is sh1te and a disgrace to the finance industry. TA, I have been valuing companies most of my life and I could write a very clued up book on the subject; sadly I do not have the time to write it so I'm afraid I will not be able to help you out!

I have read and re-read the broker valuation and the only thing that seems to stand out is that finnCap Limited, as the Nominated advisor and broker, is hardly likely to say "this company is worth Jack Shit". Statements such as "As a result, we believe a successful drilling programme could trigger a material re-rating as the potential value of these assets becomes more apparent than in the past." and "The broker believes that high impact appraisal drilling on the Barchiz and Voitinel-Solca discoveries in Romania provides material upside potential in 2011. If results are positive it expects both projects to move rapidly into development, significantly boosting Europas reported reserves." are as useful as a chocolate teapot. They might as well, more pertinently, say "If EOG do not find oil or gas, they will go bankrupt."

To state the obvious, potential is worth nothing until it becomes reality. The company is valued on supposition, ifs and maybes. Until it is able to produce a meaningful quantity of oil or gas I'm afraid the company is worth what the house broker cannot say, "Jack Shit". Yes, ok, the same can be said for an awful lot of companies out there today.

However I have no wish to strike up an argument with you, we both have our opinions and I respect that. I sincerely hope that EOG will strike a huge amount of the black stuff, or gas, I might then consider investing. Until then I will be steering well clear.

I don't know that it is good value but sure, I accept that, with the proviso that an investment would be very speculative at this stage. BAO is about minerals not oil so it is easier to quantify what they may have in the ground. Getting it out is another matter!

'It' can't see this as I have been squelched. I can stand as guilty for being upbeat on certain stocks, eg SEO, now BIOM: that was based on information provided by the company on actual trials, later on I found that the trials were a disappointment and made it known that it was so. There you go, maybe I am not squeaky clean because of that but I certainly do not think of myself as a con merchant. I hate con merchants. I hope SA isn't a con merchant. Good morning Cynic - I've enjoyed the hurling of insults here - all very amusing though I couldn't get so worked up about other people's comments, which leads me to conclude that you must all be a bunch of macho, possibly rather bored (but not boring!) guys (certainly not girls!). Isn't human nature wonderful? Every now and again some self-styled guru of the investing world appears on this board to educate us poor stupid people. What they don't realise whilst they are doing so is they expose their own lack of knowledge, paranoia and character flaws to such a degree they become the archetypal BB fool. It's a school of hard knocks.

Incidentally Kim, your analysis is entirely correct of course; personally I do believe EOG have some potential but much depends on Firsby to underpin activity, however, every RNS EOG release seems to contain disappointment couched in terms of 'hope' and 'expectation.' I don't really care if this becomes a ten bagger from here, I don't trust the management.
