Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Galactica

Agree this will find its true price eventually. Stocks find their true price under two and only two scenarios

1. They get taken over
Or 2. They go bust

The market is not a weighing machine. Its a voting machine.

Haystack - 05 Feb 2014 15:35 - 5305 of 6187

I find it amusing watching your silly predictions and how excited you get over a couple of pence movement.

This looks a very risky investment for many reasons and few people have the expertise to trade it successfully at present.

Take over, could be ripe at this price, and provided the business aren't what some are suggesting

go burst, would take a long time for that to happen, and certainly I would be out by then

forget the t/o angle or at least certainly of zero interest to the likes of Google
as a stock to trade, and as I said earlier, you could have a lot of fun - or lose your hair and your shirt!

Edelman has modified his blog now. He says the report was prepared for 2 financial institutions and that he has posted part of the report. He asked if he could publish the report and they did not ask him to publish. He also said that both the institutions had not changed their positions on Blinkx..

galatica - 06 Feb 2014 12:44 - 5317 of 6187

Are we going to get to the bottom of the problematic report?

The professor’s first disclosure “lacked clarity” and didn’t satisfy the “reasonable reader test” -- or giving the consumer enough information to “identify potential conflicts and interpret the work product with appropriate care,” Harvard Business School said in an e-mailed statement.

Report was for for 2 "investment firms"!
gubu 2UP
I have just come across this on Alphaville. Edelman has modified his blog, presumably under pressure from Harvard. Investment my eye.

This article draws in part on research I prepared for a client that sought to know more about Blinkx's historic and current practices. At my request, the client agreed to let me include portions of that research in this publicly-available posting. My work for that client comprised yielded a portion of the research presented in this article, though I also conducted significant additional research and drew on prior work dating back to 2004.

My agreement with the client did not oblige me to circulate my findings as an article or in any other way; to my knowledge, the client's primary interest was in learning more about Blinkx 's business, not in assuring that I tell others.

By agreement with the client, I am not permitted to reveal its name, but I can indicate that the client is two US investment firms and that I performed the research during December 2013 to January 2014.
The client tells me that it did not change its position on Blinkx after reading my article. (Disclosure updated and expanded on February 4-5, 2014.

cynic - 06 Feb 2014 12:50 - 5318 of 6187

i wonder if such a blatantly malicious blog would be allowed under uk regs when clearly, the people who had commissioned the report (a) had prior knowledge of its content and (b) had prior short positions before its publication

Gausie - 06 Feb 2014 13:19 - 5319 of 6187

Nothing wrong with publishing the blog.

Plenty wrong with trading UPSI - UK & USA

cynic - 06 Feb 2014 13:37 - 5320 of 6187

UPSI = what?
insider trading?
if so, this surely was effectively that, or at least sailing damn close to the wind?

btw, looks as though 120 may be challenged later today - i've been watching the action on L2

Haystack - 06 Feb 2014 14:27 - 5321 of 6187

This Edelman business seems to have sent more than a few ripples through the online advertising sphere. I have a moneytised YouTube account and I received an email from YouTube with a warning to account holders that use software and tricks to generate clicks. Advertisers are going to need convincing that their exposure on online platforms is being reported correctly.

galatica - 06 Feb 2014 14:30 - 5322 of 6187

Is that another negative item from you know who >>>>>>> Hay
