oil prices back on the rise, should see shorts closing tomorrow

chibbert - 22 Sep 2008 18:28 - 535 of 656

wow look at oil rise sharply back up...$111/bbl

SP is currently lower than at the start of the year...however oil price is higher now than at the start of the year and they recently announced the gas discovery in Hungary, also expecting gas prices to increase, profits increasing substantially and no debt, all bodes well for the future IMHO

shorts will get burnt tomorrow

Lots of talk about oil in the news this morning!

lindanewbie - 23 Sep 2008 07:13 - 540 of 656

'NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil prices soared nearly 16 percent to over $120 a barrel on Monday -- the biggest one-day gain on record'

from ft.com 'By late morning in New York on Monday, the price of oil had climbed by 20 per cent in barely five days and scarcely anyone had noticed. Then it went into overdrive, hitting $130 at one point before settling at $120.92. Last Tuesday, it traded at $90.51 a swing of 44 per cent from bottom to top.'

As I've said above, JKX has weaken and heading into a bottomless pit.

200p initial target

hlyeo98 - 06 Oct 2008 14:13 - 542 of 656

Interesting graph, dealerdear...still a 10 bagger surprisingly...bank your profits if you are still in it.

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 14:37 - 545 of 656

No not in but I am caught in several mining stocks.

Will just have to sweat it out.

hlyeo98 - 06 Oct 2008 14:40 - 546 of 656

Dealerdear, it's probably better to cut-loss and get in at a lower level.

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 14:42 - 547 of 656

too late I feel!

Either the SM goes bust (always possible) in which case I shall not be alone or at some point the SM will rally and I'll recoup

HARRYCAT - 06 Oct 2008 14:51 - 548 of 656

If you are holding the big guys (RIO, XTA, BLT etc) I think worth holding as at least you should get a divi of sorts until the stock recovers. If it's the little AIM miners then hlyeo may be right. Cut & run, imo.

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 14:53 - 549 of 656

XTA, PMO, ANTO, VED.

If they go under then we might as well give up!

Now 188p

JKX expect to get a higher price for gas in the Ukraine market in 2009. They are due to announce soon the tie in of the PPC production facility to the Soyuz pipeline to achieve export prices for gas. Development and exploration portfolios are expanding and the company had net cash at the half year. Time to buy?

hlyeo98 - 07 Oct 2008 11:15 - 553 of 656

Buy during X'mas. It will be on sale then.
