jameel06,

Good luck with ELP!

As Poo rightly points out, SEY is not a trading stock, (IMO) and it's a rollercoaster of a chart, but the value is coming, so we sit and wait, and I don't get concerned about minor drops, although obviously I would prefer them not to happen!

I am still holding all my SEY shares, and I prefer to hold long term all those stocks that I believe have the potential for long term value enhancement, and not trade them at all.

Holding for more than one year reduces the CGT, and over two years, reduces it down to 10%, another point worth considering. Inheritance tax breaks too if held for over 2 years!

Inheritance tax breaks? Nice thought Andy - but I don't plan to die just yet. LOL

dorothyperkins - 21 Jan 2006 17:20 - 5363 of 7811

talk on otther board of a big buy note in http://www.momentuminvestor.co.uk which has added it to the portfolio

Andy - 21 Jan 2006 20:07 - 5364 of 7811

Pond life,

Me neither! LOL!

Just thought it worth emntioning in case anyone didn't realise they existed on AIM stocks held over two years.

Dorothy perkins,

Thanks for the info.

Well high oil prices have again spooked Wall St. last Friday, I think we may see SEY resistance of 20p broken this week finally.

It's been a long wait!

jameel06 - 22 Jan 2006 15:17 - 5365 of 7811

dorothy perkins, have you subscirbed to this site, if you have would it be possible for you to share info on Sterling Energy from the site especially info for Feb 2006

Andy - 22 Jan 2006 15:21 - 5366 of 7811

jameel06,

Whilst that would be nice, it would breach their copyright.

Dorothy perkins,

You could of course use the private mail facility here for those that use it to post a brief synopsis!

jameel06 - 22 Jan 2006 15:56 - 5367 of 7811

andy, definately or even summarize the info..... THis will be extremely useful!!!! Andy, do u think SEY will break the 20p mark?

Andy - 22 Jan 2006 16:07 - 5368 of 7811

jameel06,

Yes, as early as tomorrow IMO, unless we get dragged down with the rest of the market tomorrow morning that is.

As the price of oil is the reason for Wall St's fall last Friday, I would hope that oil stocks will be swimming against the tide tomorrow first thing, and that would include SEY.

We are so close to 20p now, the OFFER was 20p at the close on Friday, the MID being 19.75p, so one more step and we are there.

goal - 23 Jan 2006 09:33 - 5369 of 7811

Mid price 21p , thats more like it. should be a good year for us imo.

Pond Life - 23 Jan 2006 09:51 - 5370 of 7811

At last, an SEY breakout. Let's hope that this holds. The power of TMI to move a market! Impressive.
Err... wish it had done the same for my VPC.

dikytree - 23 Jan 2006 10:02 - 5371 of 7811

Not only does Momentum tip SEY - it also tips VPC and says it could go to 900p!

ahoj - 23 Jan 2006 10:36 - 5372 of 7811

Oops, volume is not the highest ever. It's just very high..
Where can they stop it from moving?
I think if oil price stays above $40 and sey meets its targets, we will see a good rise ...

proptrade - 23 Jan 2006 11:03 - 5373 of 7811

at bloody last....

poo bear - 23 Jan 2006 12:26 - 5374 of 7811

prop - we always knew that we had to wait with this one till around now.

It's been hard especially when other stocks in this sector have performed so well while this has just sat and been Cinderella.

Well, we are now going to the Ball, so enjoy it.

I see the TMI item is produced on advfn, I though it was copyright and subscrition only, so anyone wants to see had it best go there till it's removed.

Fundamentalist - 23 Jan 2006 13:18 - 5375 of 7811

Hi all

nice to see a rise today for you guys - well done to all you long term holders :-)

Pond Life - 23 Jan 2006 13:40 - 5376 of 7811

It looks to be holding and the volume is good.
I am now, finally, in profit on the first tranch of SEY that I bought back in October 2004. Quite a day.

potatohead - 23 Jan 2006 13:49 - 5377 of 7811

get some TFC guys and watch ITV2 at 8pm ;-)

poo bear - 23 Jan 2006 13:56 - 5378 of 7811

How nice.

When you squelch a user they just disappear.

That is a real asset.

"Natural-gas futures near eight-month low in early trading
AFX

SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- February natural gas dropped to a low of $8.31 per million British thermal units in early trading, its lowest level since June 8. The contract was last at $8.39, down 90 cents, or 9.7%. 'The continuation of unseasonably mild temperatures, and swelling stockpiles have obviated the rationale behind acquisition of length, despite geopolitical tensions,' Michael Fitzpatrick, an analyst at Fimat USA, said in a note to clients. March crude fell 48 cents to $68 a barrel after rising as high as $69.20 in overnight trading.

It's all still expensive.

Sorry for the edit, misread it first time.
