Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Additional Drilling Slot
Rockhopper Exploration plc announces that it has entered into a further assignment agreement to secure an additional well slot using the Ocean Guardian drilling rig.

Rockhopper intends to utilise the additional well slot to drill a well on the north-western acreage of licence PL004, which the Company believes contains the extension to the Sea Lion field and has farmed-in with operatorship, subject to all regulatory consents, to earn an aggregate 60% interest. The well will be located in "Area 1" of the proposed farm in area, which will become known as licence PL004b once all regulatory consents are obtained.

Prior to drilling the well in "Area 1", Rockhopper will shortly drill well 14/10-9, the eighth well on the Sea Lion feature in licence PL032 (100% Rockhopper) and a further announcement will be made on spudding of this well.

Trouble is that RKH sp is not going up in isolation. The whole market is up, which means that when this rally runs out of steam...........

As a result of the loss of power onboard, all non-essential personnel were down-manned, as a precautionary measure, by helicopter to Stanley. Power has now been re-established and appropriate checks are currently being undertaken prior to the expected re-manning of the rig and resumption of normal operations within approximately one week. Rockhopper remains in close communication with the Falkland Islands Government. The incident has had no environmental impact and resulted in no injuries to personnel onboard.

skinny - 19 Oct 2011 09:05 - 5386 of 6294

I'm told its excellent for fresh fruit and veg.

HARRYCAT - 19 Oct 2011 09:23 - 5387 of 6294

You are probably right skinny, though the one here you are more likely to find your car jacked up on bricks & the alloy wheels missing when you come out than finding a bargain in store!

skinny - 19 Oct 2011 09:45 - 5388 of 6294

Harry the nearest one to me is too far away to make it cost effective - but my brother-in-law loves it for the fruit and veg - cheap and excellent quality. I'm partial to hazelnuts , which he gets for me and they are cheaper than anywhere else I can find - unless I want to buy 50kg.

As with all things in this life - it should be Lidl and often!
