Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

If and when the real downturn crap hits the fan you can forget about oil explorers for at least a decade.

Frankly, there are a hell of a lot of undervalued oilie mid-caps and minnows out there !......MXP,FPM,PVR,PTR,AEX,BLVN...and of course RKH !....and many more : AFR..etc...

skinny - 21 Oct 2011 08:30 - 5412 of 6294

BP :-)

Yes....perhaps BP....huge company...massive employer.....just got it wrong in the gulf.....but even with paying out compensation of 20 billion pounds or so....looks undervalued.....the size of that company is mind blowing !.....

Off we go again......way undervalued here....two possibilities for Rockhopper : either raise a massive amount of capital to develop Sealion themselves or, "a farm in" of some kind ...bringing in the likes of BG....BP or Petrobas and such...and move on to other exploration wells and get some more acreage...

Happens every time they spud.
Perhaps if the RNS was to inform the market that the rig had actually sunk instead of just having a power down, tilting problem, the sp would have zoomed upward.

Mind you, all I am waiting for is to see what sort of 'Fudge' comes out of the EU meeting today, and what that will do to the markets in general.
I suspect that they will go down quicker than the drilling bit on the Ocean Guardian.
