funny old share this one
i used to follow and trade it for quite a long time, but as the chart shows, it has rather stagnated

i am now of the opinion that RTN is a better bet, though DOM may well present a decent short-term trade at some point

goldfinger - 27 Mar 2014 17:39 - 548 of 841

Bang on uptrend line.

Get it bought cyners.

cynic - 27 Mar 2014 18:44 - 549 of 841

really?
expecting bounce off 25 dma or is there something else i don't see? ..... ah yes, my eye can follow the support line you mean

by the way, where would you recommend to eat in naples?
i'm staying near the ferry terminal or whatever its called

goldfinger - 27 Mar 2014 19:53 - 550 of 841

Cynic,

Naples im based in St Pauls Malta.

If you want to get their......

Naples to Valetta,

taking a ferry from Naples to Catania, then another ferry from Catania to Valetta, then onto St Pauls over land.

cynic - 27 Mar 2014 20:05 - 551 of 841

i have good reasons to go to malta as have been developing a couple of clients there
hope you're not just using malta as a tax haven - what a terrible thought :-)

i jut thought you said you'd been to naples loads of times; hence the question

goldfinger - 27 Mar 2014 20:06 - 552 of 841

I meant to say Malta, apologies cynic.

goldfinger - 27 Mar 2014 20:08 - 553 of 841

Interim Management Statement

Quarter One Trading Statement
13 weeks to 30 March 2014

Domino's Pizza Group plc ("Domino's" or "the Group"), the leading pizza delivery group with stores in the UK, Germany, Republic of Ireland and Switzerland, announces its Trading Statement covering the 13 week period to 30 March 2014 ("the period") unless otherwise stated.

The Group has made a strong start to the year with system sales rising by 14.8% to £188.5m (2013: £164.1m), largely driven by strong like-for-like sales growth in the first part of the quarter. Like-for-like sales in the UK in 725 mature stores increased by 10.8% (2013: 6.6% in 670 mature stores) thanks in part to our most successful meal deal ever offered - the Winter Survival Deal - and some weaker comparative figures due to the impact of snow in the early weeks of the same period last year. In addition, like-for-like sales, in Euros, in the Republic of Ireland remained in positive territory, rising by 3.4% (2013: 8.1%) in the period.

The proportion of sales taken via e-commerce continues to grow with 69.4% of all UK delivered sales (2013: 61.9% of UK delivered sales) now coming via the internet. Sales taken through all online platforms were up 25% to £103m (2013: £82.4m) and, of this, 34% was taken through mobile devices (2013: 25.2%).

In the German market the Group continues to implement its plan focused on establishing successful store level economics. Like-for-like sales, in Euros, in 17 mature stores (2013: 6 mature stores) were up by 3.2% (2013: 40.3%). In Switzerland, like-for-like sales, in Swiss Francs, in the 10 mature stores were up by 1.8% in the period.

i post the 5-year chart below showing just 200 dma ..... what's interesting is that generally, sp spends little time below this mark, and it has just crept back up through it after a period below of several months

a bit of a gamble and have bought a few, though i think it's a good sector with the economy recovering (see RTN)

good info says that the top end restaurants, and those at this sort of level are now doing really well; middle rank with rather o'priced "ok" food continue to struggle .... if we have a decent summer, it won't do any harm either
