BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

MRSI, when he wasn't being totally abusive to other posters, was actually quite interesting

===============

Blinkx is a typical high risk tech stock where holders congratulate themselves on buying and justify the success of the company because the price is rising.
well done hays ..... part truth and part absolutely preposterous ....

of course BLNX is a high risk stock
of course investors congratulate themselves when sp rises - why else would you buy a stock?
you will recollect that BLNX languished raher badly until it started to produce genuine bottom line profit - reason for more cheer, and for very good reason, even if you don't like that fact; but then there's a lot of stuff you don't like for no sensible reason - or are just totally blinkered - as shown time after time on the NOWT thread

perhaps edelman is julie andrews' alter ego :-)

Guessing who is who and why

Many of us have been working a theory, over the last couple of weeks and we guessed that a boiler room scam is in operation. People are being groomed and now the scammers are moving to the next level.

Anyone being asked to join, a members only club or anything associated to that type of thing, please be on your guard.

After getting all cosy with supposedly well connected city boys, you will then be told of this exciting new way to make money quick, a no brainer if you follow the ones accross the water.

Others have not been so fortunate having had a limb or two amputated following constant tripe from the great gang of frauters, not to mention resulting in a fishy smell all over those involve, which cannot be removed.

So many things seem to be bubbling away in the background and yet we have to wait for a bit longer.

Now, unless I am missing something, good things will come from this debacle.

Goodbye for now.

You can debate who's right and who's wrong but it wont change a thing, even if Eldeman is proven wrong the money in the stock has already taken flight. Do you really think that new investors will buy into a business already trading 23.5 times earnings?? If Blinkxs earnings suffer as a result of Eldeman then of course the sp will fall, however if Blinkx has nothing to hide then earnings forcasted will be met and on that basis the sp will find support. So even if Eldeman is proven wrong don't expect the sp to return back to 200p, for that to happen earnings will need to be supportive..

Just for the record I am currently long, tomorrow I could well be short, I'm interested in the direction of this stock, up or down I don't care as long as its not sideways..

cynic - 10 Feb 2014 10:26 - 5422 of 6187

thank goodness shortie talks sense here, even if a number of others do not

Shortie - 10 Feb 2014 10:51 - 5423 of 6187

To maybe help put the Eldeman thing to bed think about this. Rather than Blinkx being unprofessional and getting into a slanging match with Eldeman it has simply made a quick statement and asked the FSA to investigate... Business as usual guys, Blinkx are concentrating on sales and the business rather than getting into a slanging match... It shows the competence of the board to deal with accusations professionally, we have solicitors and government bodies to do the slanging for us so wont dirty our own hands!!

This clearly has Eldeman soaring as he's looking for a fight, whatever his objective.. He states its not financial however wasn't he commissioned to produce the report?? Last time I looked commissioned normally means paid so his objective is financial.. Of the many ways he could of published his report commissioned by the unknown he did it online for the general public for nothing more than exposure and I suspect the chance of another financial bonus being interviewed afterwards... Clearly his motive is financial and if Blinkx gets into a scrapping match his financial reward is only set to increase...

halifax - 10 Feb 2014 10:58 - 5424 of 6187

unfortunately Edelman has possibly generated doubts in the minds of BLNX's clients which in time may have a negative impact on their business.

Shortie - 10 Feb 2014 11:03 - 5425 of 6187

So did the horsemeat scandel Halifax, didn't stop me buying beef though! If the product is good sales will bounce back, they always do..

http://www.cityam.com/article/1392008333/professor-calls-full-denial-over-blinkx-note

City AM today

HARVARD Business School professor Ben Edelman has called on Blinkx, the online video search engine that he claims has engaged in “deceptive tactics”, to face up to his claims and issue a categorical denial.

“Blinkx has been making ambiguous and, I believe, deceptive statements about acquisitions for some time,” Edelman told City AM.

“Blinkx should make a categorical denial – no adware, by any name, directly or through any subsidiary.”

In a blog posting on 28 January Edelman outlined alleged business tactics including “adware... sneaking onto users’ computers and still defrauding advertisers… leading users through a maze of low-content pages, while charging advertisers for video ads systematically not visible to users.”

halifax - 10 Feb 2014 11:06 - 5427 of 6187

agree but in the short term the "debate" between Edelman and BLNX is likely to continue until one or the other is proved right or wrong.

Shortie - 10 Feb 2014 11:23 - 5428 of 6187

What debate? Eldeman has made accusations and Blinkx has rejected them. Blinkx haven't even entered into a debate with him. Sure plenty of programmers etc, etc have jumped on the band-wagon but it remains one sided Eldeman calling on deaf ears and selling his story to whoever wants to publish it... He's making a name for himself just like Edwina Currie did with eggs..

Also worth a thought, the Adware that supposedly gets installed on computers to force ads to run is old tech.... So how would this get through modern firewalls, antivirus etc. etc. That most of us run nowadays..

All that matters though when it said and done are the earnings, if you think Blinkx will smash its forecasted earnings then theres reason to buy, if you think earnings will fall way short then theres reason to sell... If your undecided and have had a good run to date then take a profit and move on..

halifax - 10 Feb 2014 11:32 - 5429 of 6187

and the downside risk is if Edelman is found to be right.

Shortie - 10 Feb 2014 11:35 - 5430 of 6187

The problem gets fixed, maybe a few lawsuits and some compensation paid. It won't change the market Blinkx is in, its market position or the fact that the online advertising world is growing...

galatica - 10 Feb 2014 11:42 - 5431 of 6187

Haystack

for not being short, your post are too negative all the time.

we will call it VENDETTA
Was as bad as that?

Vendetta - A blood feud in which the family of a murdered person seeks vengeance on the murderer or the murderer's family.

halifax - 10 Feb 2014 11:42 - 5432 of 6187

that may well be the case but BLNX has established a position of "superiority" in attracting advertisers which is to some extent being tarnished at present.
