From the latest company's drilling update....17 Feb
http://moneyam.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin/articles/200402170700084897V.html
Can anyone with mining knowledge explain these terms....
What does sidetracking mean? Approx how ong will that take?
Approx. how long will it take to correct a deviated section?
Is 'crude oil in shale samples' a good indication that there is oil?
Is 'Gas-bearing porous sands being logged' a good indication that there is gas?
Basically what does logging involve ?
Any views re AEX potential??
Regards
Stephen

S. Korean military vows to support establishment of peace regime
SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korean military leaders pledged Monday to support the government's efforts to formulate a peace regime on the divided peninsula.
About 120 top military brass met to formulate their policy objective next year in a high-profile biannual consultation, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"We will actively assist in the government's efforts to establish a peace regime at a military level," the statement said.
In September's six-nation nuclear talks in Beijing, participants in the forum agreed to establish a peace regime on the peninsula, but no follow-up discussions have been held.
South Korean officials say the establishment of a peace regime could convert the Korean War armistice into a peace treaty. The armistice has technically left the two Koreas in a state of war.
The South Korean military leaders also vowed to strengthen their military alliance with United States and other neighboring nations, the statement said.

It seemed to me that AEX had temporarily run out of steam, so in recent days have been taking excellent profits within my ISA and piling into ELA, which seems to be in strong uptrend. Have mentioned before that these 2 shares seem to been in differing phases, so I expect to be changing over again soon.

Mad Pad: It's the high risk that attracts me, that's how I got into AEX and most of my other holdings in the first place. Thanks for the tips though, will look up your longer term suggestions.

I was hoping that the lack of current news from DRPK would get some people to profit take.
Purely selfish reasons as I want to get in ;o)
Come on chaps - there must be one or two of you out there who are sitting on fat profits that really ought to be crystallised.
Still waiting and hoping .........

Ianayel, yes fat profits but the fun times are ahead. This is still a good price to get in - may not be coming much further back before a break of 30p. Don't leave it too late!

Ianayel,
I would tend to agree with Greyhound.
Despite there being a lack of news on the North Korea front (probably until talks resume in mid January I think) there is a potential spanner in the works for your hope of getting the shares cheaper than they currently are.................
the newspapers will begin to give their tips for 2006 beginning next week - if I recall correctly the Daily Telegraph is usually first off the mark in the week between Xmas and New Year whilst, this year, the vast majority of the Sunday papers will no doubt be tipping in their 1st January issue.
I am pretty confident that at least one newspaper will mention Aminex as one of their shares of the year for 2006. That will be enough to get it marked up above 30p for starters !!!
So you might just want to reconsider the chances of Aminex drifting much below the current SP.

Greyhound and supermono13,
Thanks for the advice. I must confess that I had not thought about the new year tips in the papers.
Anyway I took the plunge at 26.55p.
Hopefully we'll all be looking back this time next year at a marvellous investment.
Merry Xmas and a very prosperous New Year.

Wow !!!!
There were some talks between China and North Korea over Christmas regarding drilling for oil.
It has been heavily discussed on other BB's and, from what I can see, it looks very promising for Aminex.
Can't get over the fact that I actually got my timing right buying this (makes a very pleasant change).

N.Korea, China Strike Oil Development Deal
North Korea agreed with China over the weekend to jointly exploit offshore oilfields. The deal was signed after a meeting in Beijing and puts maritime disputes between the two countries to rest. Energy experts in China say the deal comes as no surprise as the two countries have already signed a series of deals for Chinese-funded projects.

Also Aminex is heavily discussed on the TMF board.

Thanks for the link Kaysmart. I think its excellent news. I also had a look at the Motley fool thread on AEX and saw some very interesting comments about Aminex, no wonder everyone is very bullish about Aminex on the TMF board. I think this explains why there has been considerable buying today hardly any weakness in the SP. This is a very bullish sign. I managed to top up at 28.95 and took out the last mm at 29p. The news about the latest deal between China and North Korea has not filtered through yet. I expect with some newspaper comments about the china/north Korea deal to lift up the SP to 35p. Further more any comments about AEX by any of the newspapers on their Shares of the year for 2006 will see SP above 40p.

The last time I wrote here was in August and said that a friend of my husband who works in the city recommended that we buy some shares in this company, according to him it was going to double in few weeks. On his recommendation we bought some and it did what he stated. Infect it has more than tripled since than. He visited us during Christmas day and told us to buy some more and not to sell them what ever happens to the share price. He mention about some deals being made in Korea and further news will be coming out soon. We increased our holdings yesterday. I can see why our friend told us to buy as soon as the market opened on Wednesday; there has been heavy buying since yesterday. He expect the shares to go up 40/45p short term

I too have held since early August and now we're breaking 30p, think we'll see a rapid move to 35/40p. I have considered taking another tranche but am already heavily overweight. As mentioned by kaysmart before Xmas it already has a mention on smallcaptrader, target 1. Which paper is going to pick this one up in the next 7 days???
