The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Wonder why it is BLNX feel the need to issue a RNS for this trivial stuff? It's a bit like any other company issuing a RNS for selling a few items of whatever.

HARRYCAT - 07 Jan 2010 17:39 - 561 of 6187

You owe me a drink tabasco!
"Software group Blinkx ( from Shares Mag)
(BLNX:AIM) has built up what is the worlds biggest video search engine, with more than 35 million hours of content. The Cambridge firm is not yet profitable but it is proving increasingly capable of monetising its offerings. Continuing progress should drive its valuation higher.
Blinkxs strength is its unique technology the search software goes beyond the traditional keyword-based search methods and understands the meaning of video content from sounds and images within the clips. This technology, which ensures more relevant and complete results, is licensed from Autonomy (AU.), which demerged Blinkx in April 2007. Autonomy, a leading supplier of meaning-based computer search tools, still controls appropriately 19% of the spin-off.
Internet video is a booming industry, with more than 17 million searches conducted every day as of last September, a number which more than doubled from the year before. Novembers interim revenues were up by 106% to $13.1 million. Blinkxs pricing for video advertising remained firm in a market where others experienced decline. This can be attributed to the unique qualities of Blinkxs technology as well as the groups business model. Chief executive and founder Suranga Chandratillake said the number of advertising campaigns incorporating video content had risen by 238%, as Blinkx attracted a flood of new clients in the period as corporations and agencies latched on to the value of online video. Chandratillake pointed out higher thresholds for return on investment in the downturn have been a boost for the group, whose services means advertisers can precisely track recipients actions. A further example of how the technology can be applied came when Blinkx partnered with environmental group WWF during Decembers climate change summit in Copenhagen. Blinkxs AdHoc platform meant up-to-the-minute footage from the event could be partnered with relevant advertising to run alongside the videos, with the income shared between Blinkx and its partner. Blinkxs revenues should respond well to any improvement in the advertising market overall, as well as the general ongoing growth in internet traffic.
Blinkx is also looking into further partnerships that link online video and more traditional broadcast media. In May the company announced a deal with Miniweb, an interactive service provider present in nine million UK homes, where Blinkxs software will enable Miniwebs customers to search broadcast TV and internet video through a single device. This also represents further opportunities for targeted advertising based on user profiles. Canaccord Adams analyst Alan Howard predicts Blinkx will reach profitability in fiscal 2011. He notes the valuation remains sensitive to Blinkxs long-term earnings potential and assumes a 27% peak profit margin and a long-run return on sales of 21%. Piper Jaffray analyst Rajeev Bahl has the group reaching break-even in 2012, but the groups 10.1 million cash, plus the 5 million raised in November via a share placing underwritten by Autonomy, means the company should be comfortably funded until this happens.
The cash buffer also provides Blinkx with the opportunity to acquire should it so desire. As Blinkx moves towards break-even we expect the discount to Yahoo to narrow, says Bahl, whose 26p target price assumes a rerating to 3.3 times Enterprise Value to sales (EV/Sales) for calendar 2010, which we view as realistic if revenue development continues as expected.

note well that this load of crud does not expect to reach b/e until 2012, so that's an awful long time to take an awful lot on trust ...... therefore why would you buy at this juncture? ..... sure as hell i shan't get suckered in (again)
