Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

markymar - 16 Nov 2011 21:53 - 5512 of 6294

Well if you need some cheap coal or clogs you know where to ask.

avsec - 17 Nov 2011 09:31 - 5513 of 6294

Used to buy my clogs at the Nack, Seaham and have them nicely polished for 'Grab a Granny' night at the Rex in Whitley Bay - eeeeh that were fun!

markymar - 17 Nov 2011 10:00 - 5514 of 6294

Avsec last time i was at the Rex it was a disco in the big hall many moons ago, didnt pull even with my clogs highly polished......got not taste...that was my home town.

avsec - 17 Nov 2011 11:24 - 5515 of 6294

Marky - was it you that took my pint of Amber whilst I was dancing with that blonde in '72?

greekman - 17 Nov 2011 12:46 - 5516 of 6294

Come on Avsec, I thought you knew Markymar better than that.
He would have taken the blond as well!

markymar - 17 Nov 2011 13:21 - 5517 of 6294

Thought i come up from the mine to see if any news yet......"72" hmmm more like Dandelion and burdock with a straw in the bottle from the Bee Hive.

mnamreh - 17 Nov 2011 13:28 - 5518 of 6294

.

avsec - 17 Nov 2011 15:16 - 5519 of 6294

I only ventured over that side for the Rex disco so perhaps it could have been your father?
When I was in Shields in the '70s the Marsden Grotto was my watering hole - which would have suited your love of mines (and caves?). There was more than coal in there as I recall...................

markymar - 17 Nov 2011 15:40 - 5520 of 6294

More like my elder brother and sister at vally Gardens.

Them days you could get the lift down to the watering hole......i think it re opened a few years a go with a lick of new paint sadley the hole in the rock has gone.

Did you ever venture into Tynemouth......its no where near my mine...i better go and feed the pit ponies clip clop clip clop

avsec - 18 Nov 2011 10:06 - 5521 of 6294

"Did you ever venture into Tynemouth......"

I wasn't THAT brave!

greekman - 18 Nov 2011 11:07 - 5522 of 6294

Just a wild thought.

Could it be that the results of the Coring are so unbelievably good that even they find them hard to accept, so there double/triple checking.

All together now.......Always look on the bright side of life!

Note...The above may be more nearer the truth then we think!

markymar - 18 Nov 2011 11:34 - 5523 of 6294

Maybe more tests Greek so they can give more detail....great to have more meat on the bones something to chew on.

Off down the mine lets hope there is some news when i get back up clip clop clip clop

Avsec where your stomping ground?

greekman - 18 Nov 2011 16:44 - 5524 of 6294

Markymar,

Looks like your right re further testing.

Posted on another site.
This is obviously the reason why no RNS.

They didn't say further announcement in 7 days.

They said drilling will take a further 7 days

A further announcement will be made once coring is completed (no timescale mentioned on this) END

I usually pride myself on detail, but I must admit to adding 2 + 2 and getting 5 on the 7 day expected coring timescale meaning a RNS release in 7 days.
As we know coring completion, will mean logging the findings, so could be a few days yet.
