Xcite Energy - North Sea Heavy Oil (XEL)

Proselenes - 22 Oct 2009 11:14

.

Proselenes - 16 Nov 2010 11:03 - 556 of 3002

Well done cynic.

But I am still in and looking for 500p to 600p levels on good flow tests. Obviously you believe not or you would not sell and say you do not expect a big rise.

But I do expect a big rise on good news and so still in :)

cynic - 16 Nov 2010 11:10 - 557 of 3002

there is such a thing as prudence and plain stupidity and overweaning greed ..... guess into which category your mentality falls

cynic - 16 Nov 2010 11:18 - 558 of 3002

just as a small piece of interest .....
there are 10 x MM but all bid/offer in lumps of 5,000 only - that is standard for this stock
at time of writing ....
bid prices range between 250 and 258
offer prices range between 260 and 266

WEAZEL - 16 Nov 2010 11:21 - 559 of 3002

so cynic do you think Pros estmimates (545) are pie in the sky or that we are in for retrenchment before we potentially see those levels? Your point does make me pause for thought...

cynic - 16 Nov 2010 11:37 - 560 of 3002

if i was that bloody clever i wouldn't be sitting here!
however, almost without exception punters on BBs get over-excited and have crazy ideas about sp prospects - RKH was a classic where certain people (no finger pointing) were touting the prospect of AT LEAST 650/750p - and that was without breaking wind! ..... when i suggested 450 was more realistic (i have no technical knowledge and do no research!), i was roundly booed by said pundits .... i note that sp is currently 305

with regard to XEL, i have no idea at all what flow level is required to justify the current price, let alone 500/600 as touted by a certain person ..... my GUESS is that the current level is sustainable and just may be there is a further 50p to go for in the immediate future - but that always assumes the flowtest is the bees knees and without caveats

it follows that, imo, it is highly likely that sp will indeed retrench after the RNS, but at what level it will be at that time is anyone's guess

WEAZEL - 16 Nov 2010 11:44 - 561 of 3002

thanks cynic - opinion is appreciated! a watchful eye on this one then

Proselenes - 16 Nov 2010 12:32 - 562 of 3002

Yes cynic, no finger pointing but certain people were proudly saying they sold RKH at 90p as it was too high.

Only to then buy back in higher and then proclaim they sold at 180p and it was too high, only to buy back in higher and proclaim to sell at 230p and it was too high, only to... well, it goes on and on and RKH went to 550p !!

You sold at 253p and you reckon there is 50p more in it, well, I will repost this post on good news and see how right, or wrong you are.......

Already its over 10p up on your 253p sell......

:)

Proselenes - 16 Nov 2010 12:35 - 563 of 3002

The trouble is when people make wrong calls and sell too early into a rising price they simply say "whoops" later and toddle off.

If you make the wrong call and the price falls back rather than being sensible the people who often say "whoops" start posting all sorts of crap all the time about how they were right to sell early.

So I think its very right to remind the same people that they were so so wrong on the way with these shares and made the wrong call many times :)

For some reason they tend to think that them selling early and missing out is fine and ok, but someone else selling late and missing out is a serious crime........

LOL :)

Proselenes - 16 Nov 2010 12:37 - 564 of 3002

As the saying goes "If you cannot stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen" and the same goes with stocks, if you cannot handle it, then sell early and take a small profit and toddle off.

If you can handle the heat then the rewards are potentially much greater, but so the risk is higher.

I can handle it.

Others can and some cannot.

required field - 16 Nov 2010 12:37 - 565 of 3002

On a good flow 2000 to 3000...this will rise...volume of oil in the ground would be large...

Proselenes - 16 Nov 2010 12:39 - 566 of 3002

DANA had less than 190 million recoverable barrels. If the flow test is good, and given the thicker pay and near 100% gross to net, XEL could have over 200 million recoverable barrels.

Go figure.

cynic - 16 Nov 2010 13:08 - 567 of 3002

banking a good profit can never ever be wrong .... clearly i have touched a very sensitive nerve as it's obviously a lesson you have never learnt ..... i can't remember whether or not i sold some RKH at 90 - quite possibly or even probably .... nor do or did i ever mind getting back in again if the game changes, and who cares if the price is then higher ..... it's a damn sight better than wringing one's hands because one COULD have sold at a whopping profit, but through unforeseen (they always are!) circumstances, all has crumbled away

cynic - 16 Nov 2010 13:11 - 568 of 3002

and i should have added ....
nor biting the bullet (quickly!) when one gets it wrong

Balerboy - 16 Nov 2010 13:30 - 569 of 3002

can i have a ringside seat at the boxing match pretty please......cyners v pro.....

Balerboy - 16 Nov 2010 13:32 - 570 of 3002

Must admit i topped up this morning with a few more.,.

gildph - 16 Nov 2010 13:35 - 571 of 3002

rf flow test turns out to be good with 200mbls what is your target for the share price?

Balerboy - 16 Nov 2010 13:40 - 572 of 3002

my guess is compared to rkh....spike to 4.50 poss 5 then settle 3.5 imo

gildph - 16 Nov 2010 13:44 - 573 of 3002

WHAT'S ALL THIS 2000p talk - over next couple of years or do people believe that a possibility albeit slim based on positive flow test results as i would tend to agree with your range Balerboy

Balerboy - 16 Nov 2010 13:46 - 574 of 3002

read pro's threads with a pinch of fairy dust......:))

gildph - 16 Nov 2010 13:49 - 575 of 3002

yeah starting to realise that - iN RKH and expectations set far to high - still waiting on 7.5!!! Now nearer 3 and as for 5.50 the window to sell as that level lasteed for all of 5 mins... cheers balerboy appreciate it...
