VOG is presently drilling Well 104 in its West Medvezhye field,and expected to reach depth in 4 weeks from spud date of 30th June, that makes 27th July(this week).
Results of testing will be sometime mid/late August, with a positive outcome
it could be HUGH.
With estimates of 134BILLION cubic metres of GAS and 201 Million barrels of Gas
Condensate,it will be a Company Maker. The field is in the area of the largest gas field in the WORLD.
Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO
and C2 reserves of7.8MBO. Another acquistion is Tamdykol with potental
reserves of 34MBO, it also has interest in 2 blocks in the North Sea.

It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into
a Mid Cap Company(�500m+) in the not to distant future.

TAKEN FROM ADVFN.Gooner I agree with you. WK obviously couldnt say that but it is usually obvious when you are face to face with someone and they are trying to ramp something up there was absolutely NO indication of us having anything to worry about re 104 or the other prospects.

One thing I forgot in my report which I found interesting, it was around the point when KF was telling us it was no time to sit back because of all the good prospects out there. There was a quick dialogue between KF and WK about the time they spend on new potential and they agreed that at least 30% of their time collectively is spent on new potential. It seems there is a guy (Nigel I think) who is the master at digging around the FSU and finding forgotten treasure. KF said that only in the FSU are there assets to be found selling for below their full value and that VOG was hot on their trail. There was then another question whether VOG was looking at countries other than our present locations and they would only say that to date all of the FSU and satelite states AND Asia were likely targets. Surely big enough to keep us busy for a while.

Suspect MM's and shorters taking advantage of nervous shareholders just as they have been for the last few weeks.

Personal view is that this is heading for the stratosphere by end of May, owing to forthcoming news on three wells. Current dip in the share price is just a distraction (or buying opportunity for those not already in). IMO, DYOR, etc.

Gazprom makes first LNG delivery to Britain

MOSCOW (AFX) - Russian energy giant Gazprom said it made its first delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Britain.

The state-controlled group delivered 140,000 cubic metres (4.9 mln cubic feet) of LNG to BP PLC, the equivalent of 85 mln cubic metres of natural gas, it said.

The delivery was made to BP's LNG gas terminal on the Isle of Grain in the Medway river to the east of London.

that their combined holding in the ordinary shares of the Company was 9,870,000
representing 8.56% of the issued ordinary share capital.

I think you'll find they've reduced their holding from 10.58%. Please do your research properly.

Not too concerned as they've been in since the sub-40p days so they're probably just top-slicing.

Alas I have been unable to play this, DThomson014 and wish I could - but I did see a very interesting documentary on German TV a few weeks ago, about Gazprom's gas exploration inside the Arctic Circle. It brought home just how tough and dangerous are the conditions where these companies are working, e.g. everything takes longer because special techniques have to be used to ensure the survival of men and machinery at temperatures often way below -25 C.

However, the result was a gas field producing one million cubic metres per day and exporting it via pipeline to the West. The amount of preparation that had to go in beforehand was considerable though, including the building of the pipeline itself at the rate of approx 300m per day. They also had to build a large, covered plant for purifying the gas before sending it away.

All in all it really made me think - and provided a few sobering thoughts about what conditions are really like in the oil and gas industry for those moments when I'm sitting at my PC feeling like whingeing about the share price not moving!!

Boucher sees great Kazakh potential, promises aid to reach goals

Washington: U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Richard A. Boucher, has said that Kazakhstan has great potential to develop and play a larger role in world energy, regional affairs, and in promoting reform and democracy and pledged the United States will continue to help Kazakhstan along its way.

Boucher, who visited Kazakhstan April 8 to 10, had met with Foreign Minister Kassymzhomart Tokaev, other officials and leaders of political parties and nongovernmental organizations.

His discussions with Tokaev focused on ways of promoting regional security and integration. Earlier this month, they had discussed similar subjects at the conference in Kabul, Afghanistan.

In an April 8 interview with Channel 31 TV in Almaty, Boucher said Kazakhstan has great potential in energy, great potential in agriculture, great potential as a stabilizer in this region.

Our goal is to figure out how to help Kazakhstan realize that. Some of its economic, some of its security, some of its by helping Kazakhstan achieve democracy. All those things go together, and they all support each other, Boucher said.

Our goal is to make sure these countries get the opportunities and the attention they deserve from the United States. One of our goals is to make sure we dont lose all the connections between Central Asia and Europe connections between the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the European Bank, NATO, and the European Union. But well see what we can do to promote the other connections to the south, he added.

Before the recent State Department reorganization, U.S. managed relations with Kazakhstan and four other countries of Central Asia through the 54 nation Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

Boucher said in an interview, theres a perception in the United States that Kazakhstan is, first of all, a big country, an important country in a key location Kazakhstan can and will benefit from regional ties. Kazakhstan will benefit from having more options, a variety of ways to sell oil and gas, and electricity.

The U.S. diplomat said the United States has recognized positive movement in Kazakhstan, and noted, Were also looking for movement towards rule of law, fighting corruption, building democratic institutions, so that this kind of change can go into the future.
