Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Another good result.....this should be way over 4.....so frustrating......

Proselenes - 13 Dec 2011 13:14 - 5569 of 6294

Now you see cynic with regards to the DES price.

Was not me who was stupid, but the mug punters this morning who brought shares in DES, a company with no money to drill, no rig on contract and little hope of raising funds at a decent price in the future.

markymar - 13 Dec 2011 13:42 - 5570 of 6294

but they have oil.......sour grapes it sounds to me,both myself and RF bought in at 11p a few months back i re topped up at 23p......am happy pro so what you bleating on about.

Balerboy - 13 Dec 2011 15:13 - 5571 of 6294

Marky, lost the grip of this one, whats next for rkh and time scale?? please.,.

markymar - 13 Dec 2011 16:32 - 5572 of 6294

Balerboy am not sure there might be some updates on technical things also the data room opening up for potential farm in partners on my wish list I am the waiting of the CPR report in the first quarter of 2012.

Brokers notes

Rockhopper Exploration (LON:RKH) - the operator with 60 per cent - and Desire Petroleum (LON:DES), which has a 40 per cent carried interest, revealed today that the final well in the North Falkland drill programme was a success.

The well has penetrated all four reservoir targets and wireline logging indicates that these reservoirs are hydrocarbon bearing. The reservoirs were both appraisal and exploration targets.

Evolution Securities analyst Keith Morris said there is no doubt that well result should drive Rockhoppers net asset value higher. In a note to clients today the analyst repeated a buy recommendation and upgraded his price target from 450 to 540p a share.

Meanwhile with a focus on Desire, Seymour Pierce analyst Brendan DSouza said it was a great boost. He says the result significantly increases Desires chances of farming out additional acreage and raising capital to ensure further drilling.

Elsewhere, analysts at Oriel Securities highlighted that Rockhopper shares are currently trading at a 70 per cent discount to net asset value. And the broker expects to upgrade its NAV estimates once further details on Casper and Beverley become clear.

cynic - 13 Dec 2011 17:03 - 5573 of 6294

that surely still makes DES a marginal play and my advice would be for you to book about 80% of your paper profit there

Proselenes - 14 Dec 2011 08:03 - 5574 of 6294

DES red today and continuing down now.

No money. No rig. Some gas.

cynic, its clear now who were the stupid ones yesterday............certainly not me :)

cynic - 14 Dec 2011 08:21 - 5575 of 6294

you miss the point - i don't hold and wouldn't buy DES as i think it's marginal and very much dependant upon RKH success .... my comment to you was in regard to your daft comment that DES had only found gas and water - or in your case, hot air :-)

avsec - 14 Dec 2011 10:03 - 5576 of 6294

Well said Pro - how do you do it?
I'm delighted to hear that you are the only person 'in step'. How I envy you your forsight!
How do you find time to cast your pearls before the swine on this thread whilst making so much money?

required field - 14 Dec 2011 10:07 - 5577 of 6294

Without causing any trouble....Prosels has got his or (her) timing wrong too many times......too many ramps and not taking profits....booooouuuhhh...

Proselenes - 14 Dec 2011 12:42 - 5578 of 6294

RF, no, my timing was correct more often than not.

I remember you and cynic selling RKH at 90p and screaming it was over valued, as it continued upwards to 500p at the very highest level of its spike :)

Nobody gets it right all the time, but some do get it right more often than wrong ;)

cynic - 14 Dec 2011 12:56 - 5579 of 6294

i don't recollect selling at 90p but certainly not impossible .... however, as i trade as well as hold, it is certainly certain that i bought back in too

Proselenes - 15 Dec 2011 08:08 - 5580 of 6294

DES continues down.

I do feel sorry for anyone ramped into buying the nonsense earlier this week.

required field - 15 Dec 2011 08:10 - 5581 of 6294

I sold at 98p,,,,and bought back straight away a bit higher.....we all make mistakes....

greekman - 15 Dec 2011 08:24 - 5582 of 6294

Proselenes,

It must be nice to be gifted with hindsight!

Time Traveller - 15 Dec 2011 08:29 - 5583 of 6294

And I thought this was the Rockhopper thread!?

avsec - 15 Dec 2011 10:55 - 5584 of 6294

Pros has obviously decided to return to posting on this thread because very few people visit 'his' copy-cat threads where he posts his ramping monologues.

Proselenes - 15 Dec 2011 10:58 - 5585 of 6294

I have no interest in RKH, as said for a long time since selling, as said, at 300p.

I read all the threads, this one has some ramptastic posts about DES, so I thought I would comment.

DES is a pile of poo, no money to drill, no rig and no flow tested oil/gas........what else can it be called ?

In need of huge dilution is what it can be called.............

blackdown - 15 Dec 2011 13:44 - 5586 of 6294

Interesting that Pro sold at 300p. He was all in in late Feb, since when the price hasn't got to 300p.

Proselenes - 21 Feb 2011 15:55 - 156 of 644
Well, I am now pretty much "all in" RKH after selling other stocks and buying even more.

If the next 8 to 10 wells they have the funds to drill all fail, I shall lose a couple of hundred K.

If the next 8 to 10 wells strike lots more oil, I will walk away with a 7 figure pure profit.

These kind of fully funded chances do not come along too often, you have to grab them and either make a name for yourself or go down in flames with a smile on your face for having a go.

I am having a go and fully prepared to lose, and also full prepared to accept a win if it happens :)

Proselenes - 15 Dec 2011 14:28 - 5587 of 6294

Talk of a 750M pound placing at 250p a share.

300M new shares to fund an EPS (Early Production) (280M already in issue).

Take EVO price target of 540p and mark down by 50% gives around 270p for now as the new target price.

So a placing around 250p of that magnitude is about right - price can fluctuate between 225p and 275p for a year or so until things start to move on the early production system.

Price will move out of that range when EPS is nearly there or if they sign a new rig contract and then a new rig moves into location for some more exploration.
