Interserve looks interesting!!!!!!!

Goldfinger.
Thank you I will try.
One problem I have is that I use CMC and Sharescope.

While I like Moneyam charting, I find Sharescope has the added facility of being able to apply channels, trend lines etc. and modify them suits my dealing methods.

Unfortunately, I cant cut and paste the charts to the thread.
I must admit I utilise charting for generally intermediate dealing and then the financials, to check the validity of the chart.

Presently, I have these only small outgoings in Share bets as I think the overall market trend is uncertain.
These are AEGs, IMG (sorry Stan, still hold, but tend to be in and out and small) RBS, SBT, and TW.

I will try an put the charts up over the next few days.

Also, recently bought shares in Ashmore, Barclays, Afren (With tight, Stop), CLIG (epic) (longterm hold , I hope) and (for cheek) Cosalt and SBT

Looking at XTA, dont know, but channel is interesting.

H & S forming?

goldfinger - 17 Jan 2011 17:51 - 560 of 3532

Great to see more faces here. Trying to make it more of a trading thread with charts at the core.

Skinny yep good call on interserve, what do YOU use to screen for your positions????.

goldfinger - 17 Jan 2011 18:15 - 561 of 3532

Pretty good day to say the indicies were more or less flat all day. Beginning to wonder if breadth is going from the market and it will become a stock pickers haven.

GF.

Have a look at the PE on some of the more quickly rising stock.

I don't think I will be around in 50 or 60 years time to appreciate the expected value of the company.

Reminds me of 2001 period.

goldfinger - 17 Jan 2011 18:28 - 563 of 3532

Yep fred ive had that same feeling for a while, probably late summer, keep thinking we are going to have one heck of a sell off but it keeps on going up and up well the med/small caps do. Must be all the dosh thats been on the sidelines after the Recession.

Photobucket

Stumbled across DCG recenlty. This chart doesn't quite tell the whole story; DCG has been stuck in a trading range of 330p-425p since October 2009. Four attempts have been made on the 425p barrier and it looks like it may be lining up for a fifth.

Not for the first time a Golden Cross was formed recently with a subsequent retrace towards the MAs post the actual event (something I have noticed happens quite a lot).

The MACD histo looks like it's heading towards positive territory, whilst its MAs remain above the centreline. Actually both the MACD & RSI seem to have plenty in reserve to support a push through resistance.

Usually when a SP has been in a trading range for such a long period the eventual breakout is quite dramatic, although quite what the catlyst could be for creating something dramatic I have no idea. DCG is a pretty boring company when all said and done.

goldfinger - 17 Jan 2011 21:32 - 565 of 3532

Hi PTH, boring usually means beautifull in my eyes, ive taken a printed copy to study a bit later on.

Cheers mate.

No worries GF.

Once upon a time you posted a link to the data of stocks being shorted, I've since lost the link on an old PC, any chance you could re-post. Ta

Hilary put me onto these. BARC had a bit of a run up in the last week, and I think these might be due for the same - I'm already in (always premature!). I think there may be a bit of a banking rally soon so I'm watching carefully.

And then there's Drax, which I've held for a few months now.

And MAN group, been holding these for a while:

Heres a good joke for you chaps......

A very shy guy goes into a nightclub and sees a beautiful woman sitting at the bar. After an hour of gathering up his courage, he finally goes over to her and asks, tentatively, "Um, would you mind if I chatted with you for a while?"

She responds by yelling, at the top of her lungs, "No, I won't sleep with you tonight!" Everyone in the bar is now staring at them. Naturally, the guy is completely embarrassed and he slinks back to his table.

After a few minutes, the woman walks over to him and apologizes. She smiles at him and says, "I'm sorry if I embarrassed you. You see, I'm a graduate student in psychology and I'm studying how people respond to embarrassing situations."

To which he responds, at the top of his lungs, "Two-hundred dollars? What do you mean $200?!

System spit out PHTM and ASHM for short term trades in morning. All a case of DYOR.

Goldfinger - re post 560 - nothing more than my bit of dried seaweed :-) Seriously, I came across IRV in the summer when I was looking for steady yielders. At the time, I also highlighted HICL.

Stan - 18 Jan 2011 16:00 - 574 of 3532

See my post on the EXPN thread, MAM won't allow me to C&P the chart due to their change 6 months ago.

skinny - 18 Jan 2011 17:18 - 575 of 3532

IRV up another 5% - so much for safe yielders!

skinny - 18 Jan 2011 17:23 - 576 of 3532

Stan - is this what you want ?
