I think its the comments from Hardmans Resource is giving confidence in the shares. See link. Its give very good prospects for Chiguetti project

Shame it couldn't keep its head at or above 25p. Disappointing end to the day really.

seawallwalker - 24 Mar 2006 18:38 - 5653 of 7811

Well, fingers xxd on ADVFN has projected the breakout for the 6th April at the first attempt.

I have no idea if he is right, but I will wait and see and hopefullty be th first to congratulate him.

Andy - 24 Mar 2006 18:40 - 5654 of 7811

SWW,

The first day in the new tax year!

Anyway, I won't be complaining if he's right.

seawallwalker - 24 Mar 2006 18:44 - 5655 of 7811

Yes I had noticed that, and it is quite a co incidence that on that day there should be a bit of money about!

However, the lines do meet up there, so I will be interested to see if it works.

Nice result for Hardman, Sterling et al today, most oilies up anyway, but still nice to see a little bit of up trend on their own merits.

seawallwalker - 24 Mar 2006 18:46 - 5656 of 7811

I'll ask this another time.

jimward9 - 31 Mar 2006 11:07 - 5657 of 7811

"Hell of a lot of big trades this am any ideas anyone?"

Yes. Most likely because the dispute between the Mauritanian Government and Woodside is settled.

Exact details are not yet released, lots of conflicting press.

Nevertheless, seen as a positive in respect of Sterling Energy I would guess, there being a "special relationship" between Sterling and the Government. (If that still exists of course?)

seawallwalker - 31 Mar 2006 11:47 - 5660 of 7811

I should have added, we should now see a rapid phase of news imo in respect of Tiof and Tevet developement from Woodside, no doubt the dispute was an impediment to progression.

Gosh don't I sound intelligent?

Andy - 01 Apr 2006 13:35 - 5661 of 7811

A poster over the road pointed out a mention in today's Times.

I like the last sentence, as it suggests that what many posters are thinking may well be true.

"Settlement of a dispute on production sharing agreements between Woodside Petroleum and the new Government of Mauritania saw Sterling Energy, which is active in the region, firm p to 25p. Heavy turnover prompted talk that Invesco is adding to its 24 per cent stake."

Does anyone have any ideas about the two 5 million trades that went through today? So far over 16 million sold? Somebody is offloading big time??

Andy - 03 Apr 2006 16:54 - 5664 of 7811

austing2253,

There are 1.4 billion SEY shares in issue, so 10 million is a tiny fraction.

SEY has many large trades, I don't worry about them as long as the price holds.

I believe there is value here, so I don't worry about intraday price movements or trades, it's the long term upward trand that keeps me invested here.
