Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

I decided to get some, as deals are due to be announced soon and drilling plans as well could soon come into view.
Given the potential I am pretty sure that as drilling gets near this will be at least double the present 140p price and so it represents an easy way to make money for those with a little bit of patience.
Last institutional fund raise was at 250p in April, so 140p seems like a good price to buy in for me.
Now £104p
FOGL you have just broken even with so you not doing that well are you.

Last time RKH was 300p was 9/2/11. Interesting then that Pro was 'all in' on 21 Feb but managed to sell at 300p.
Says it all.

End of Drilling Campaign
Rockhopper Exploration plc (AIM: RKH), the North Falkland Basin oil and gas exploration company, announces that the Ocean Guardian drilling unit has been towed successfully from the 14/15-4 well location and is now off hire to Rockhopper.
14/15-4 was the final well in Rockhopper's first North Falkland Basin drilling campaign, which has lasted from 16 April 2010 to 8 January 2012.
The Company estimates that it will have over USD $100 million of cash resources available once all charges for completing the drilling campaign have been accounted for.
Sam Moody, Chief Executive, commented,
"This marks the end of what has been a highly successful and safe drilling campaign. We have operated ten wells, conducted two Drill Stem Tests, two short offset sidetracks and collected in excess of 450m of core with the Ocean Guardian on hire to us for a total of 397 days. I would like to thank the entire Rockhopper team and our contractors for their efforts which have resulted in seven successful wells of our ten drilled, with three oil discoveries, three gas discoveries, multiple successful Sea Lion appraisal wells and a successful appraisal well on Casper."

Hi Balerboy,
You may well be right, but with the road show starting today and my thoughts on post 5647, I feel it is too risky to be out of RKH, at least for more than a couple of days.
Still a bird or profit in the hand etc, can never be a bad thing.
It may just be your braver than I am.
regards Greek.

not exactly the most exciting of rns! would expect some sp reverse now especially with the argies on a war footing - this time uk does not have any chance of assembling a real task force should something happen - argie planes are out dated but currently only 4 typhoons in theatre - can be reinforced but only for a short period - other s.a. countries aligning with the argies US dont want to know this time right now - and any ship with falklands as its destination will not be welcomed at most s.a. countries - time to sell and buy back later perhaps - definitely reduce risk imo
upgrades to come but infrastructure costs to get this stuff very high, threat of war, etc
farm outs is a maybe but not that near term right now
