Does anyone have any ideas about the two 5 million trades that went through today? So far over 16 million sold? Somebody is offloading big time??

Andy - 03 Apr 2006 16:54 - 5664 of 7811

austing2253,

There are 1.4 billion SEY shares in issue, so 10 million is a tiny fraction.

SEY has many large trades, I don't worry about them as long as the price holds.

I believe there is value here, so I don't worry about intraday price movements or trades, it's the long term upward trand that keeps me invested here.

Pond Life - 03 Apr 2006 17:03 - 5665 of 7811

FWIW, I don't think that all the large trades were sells. The Market Makers just would not absorb such a large line of stock. I think that they were shares changing hands - buys and sells. Further fuel for the story about stake building, perhaps. All will be revealed - sooner or later.

seawallwalker - 03 Apr 2006 17:27 - 5666 of 7811

Tend agree Pondy.........

I bought a few today and could not get the published ask price, had to pay a fraction more.

Maybe I was robbed, I don't know, but I am puzzled.

Pond Life - 04 Apr 2006 07:51 - 5667 of 7811

SWW - did you try to buy online? I use Barclays and often put through dummy transactions to test market prices. I'll give it another try today (if I get time at the office) and report back.

Pond Life - 04 Apr 2006 08:13 - 5668 of 7811

SWW - can currently buy 100,000 online with Barclays no bother at the stated price of 25p. No shortage of stock there then.

Hmm.......... must have been a blip........

Ray A - 04 Apr 2006 21:49 - 5670 of 7811

Andy,

Thought you would like to know, placed proceeds from FDI into SEY at 24.7p this morning, SEY now my largest holding and trust my faith will prove well founded when results come out shortly, time for SP to gain new level?

queen1 - 05 Apr 2006 13:34 - 5671 of 7811

Ray A - I'm surprised. I hold both FDI & SEY and think you'll get far more action from FDI. Still, here's hoping they both do well (anyone got a rocket to stick under SEY?).

Andy - 05 Apr 2006 16:18 - 5672 of 7811

Ray A,

I have topped up my SEY too!

As queen1 rightly says, SEY moves very slowly, but I do hope that we will move up steadily from here now that Chinguetti oil is being sold and exported.

I think SEY has every chance of doubling over time, and I disagree with Queen1 in that I think BOTH shares have chances of adecent action, but SEY certainly have the chance that a bid will be received, as there must surely be some consolidation in the oil sector soon?

Amevscap hold at least 24% of the shares, and that holding will be key in the event of a bid(s) being recived.

Ray A - 05 Apr 2006 18:30 - 5673 of 7811

Andy,

Intend, to get back to FDI and have retained half my holding. However, hoping results may move SEY to make a quick turn worthwhile, we will see!

queen1 - 07 Apr 2006 09:19 - 5674 of 7811

25.75p - Key breakout or another false dawn?

Andy - 07 Apr 2006 09:20 - 5675 of 7811

queen1,

With SEY, who knows?

Andy - 07 Apr 2006 09:21 - 5676 of 7811

queen1,

+1.75p! @ 26.50 MID (25.75 - 27)

queen1 - 07 Apr 2006 09:28 - 5677 of 7811

Perhaps someone found that rocket Andy.....
