Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Took my profit today as there won't be any news now for a while, expect sp to drop a bit now.,.

greekman - 09 Jan 2012 08:50 - 5666 of 6294

Hi Balerboy,

You may well be right, but with the road show starting today and my thoughts on post 5647, I feel it is too risky to be out of RKH, at least for more than a couple of days.
Still a bird or profit in the hand etc, can never be a bad thing.
It may just be your braver than I am.

regards Greek.

Reserves upgrade still to come....

Balerboy - 09 Jan 2012 09:01 - 5668 of 6294

The news to come may well keep the sp where it is but personally can't see why it should increase much more. My thoughts only gla.,.

Farming in rns perhaps ?...

gibby - 09 Jan 2012 09:26 - 5670 of 6294

not exactly the most exciting of rns! would expect some sp reverse now especially with the argies on a war footing - this time uk does not have any chance of assembling a real task force should something happen - argie planes are out dated but currently only 4 typhoons in theatre - can be reinforced but only for a short period - other s.a. countries aligning with the argies US dont want to know this time right now - and any ship with falklands as its destination will not be welcomed at most s.a. countries - time to sell and buy back later perhaps - definitely reduce risk imo

upgrades to come but infrastructure costs to get this stuff very high, threat of war, etc

farm outs is a maybe but not that near term right now

gkp £14 - LOL LOL LOL - dont think so - lucky to get a fiver t/o!!! dont matter they have a shed load of oil - what matters is the location of the gkp oil and that aint good

if any t/o proceeds there i believe it would be sinopec who spent more in 2011 than all the other majors put together on t/os lol

Looks like the buying on 2 brokers tips of Friday is now all out of steam, and profit taking comes in.

cynic - 09 Jan 2012 13:52 - 5674 of 6294

if so, they're clearly not taking your advice and buying into FOGL!

Proselenes - 09 Jan 2012 17:18 - 5675 of 6294

FOGL will rise, now is the time to fill ya boots.

Just wait.......... :)

cynic - 09 Jan 2012 17:26 - 5676 of 6294

with sand and water

markymar - 09 Jan 2012 17:37 - 5677 of 6294

The broker says that Rockhopper can effectively pursue a farm-out agreement following the successful appraisal of the Sea Lion discovery.

Westhouse has a ‘buy’ recommendation on the stock with a 658p price target.

Proselenes - 10 Jan 2012 01:44 - 5678 of 6294

ok Cynic, you are a bear on this stock at 52p.

Is that correct ? You are predicting it will not rise at this year ? Is that what you are saying ? LOL

OK, I i will remind everyone one of your comments when Loligo is being drilled in a few months time.

:)

cynic - 10 Jan 2012 07:48 - 5679 of 6294

i am not a holder of fogl in any respect and have no wish to be
i only hold rkh in this region, and am currently showing a very nice profit

logic is as follows, and as posted a couple of weeks back ....

if fogl fluke a find - chances are usually something like 5:1, but in unknown territory, more realistic to say 8 or 10 or even 12:1 - then rkh will also benefit
there will also be plenty of opportunity to jump on board after the event.

if fogl get a duster or a non-commercial find - the most likely outcome - then fogl will be badly hit, but rkh will only a dip a bit

i don't play roulette, even when the odds are a bit better than at that that mug's game

aldwickk - 10 Jan 2012 09:00 - 5680 of 6294

Whats happening with the trade's 111,111,111,

required field - 10 Jan 2012 09:15 - 5681 of 6294

I think that as BOR drilling gets closer and closer, that sp should rise....

markymar - 10 Jan 2012 09:21 - 5682 of 6294

Loligo prospect has a 10% COS so very slim chance that oil is there....keep chasing your rainbows Pro.

RKH is an investment as oil and gas has been found,FOGL is a gamble and a very poor one at 10%.

Balerboy - 10 Jan 2012 09:26 - 5683 of 6294

glad I'm out this is going back to 260p.,.

cynic - 10 Jan 2012 09:27 - 5684 of 6294

so my (un)educated guess of "chances are usually something like 5:1, but in unknown territory, more realistic to say 8 or 10 or even 12:1" wasn't far off the mark then
