Sorry all, bit late today. Still full of my usual cheer and happiness, hopefully soon to be full of tea and sherry trifle. Kettle's on.

little willie - 06 Jul 2005 22:37 - 5695 of 24230

Just dropped in, you gotta laugh; DD has an outboard nicked, talk about "Ferry 'cross the Mersey"!! Go on Gerry sing us a song! Have you still got your hubcaps?

Me, just got in from dinner with three friends in Paarl, fabulous nosh Rand 100 each
9 incl. 3 bott wine .

Olympics coming to East End eh? Welly throwing, Jellied Eels eating, Pearly King outfits, should knock 'em senseless, small wonder we beat Paris.
I hear its all full of refugees, illegals etc. but what do I know?

At least old Jessie won't have fart to go to watch the performances or Hickey come to that!!!

STORMCALLER - 07 Jul 2005 00:22 - 5696 of 24230

Strange kind of day, in a daze after the dreadful news about the olympics, worried about dd now he has to deal with the realisation he is stuck with Gerrard, also distracted by a matter giving much cause for concern closer to home, and suddenly I found myself here!
I believe this must be a sort of homing instinct as the body seeks a natural cure, only thing that sprung to mind was...DP VIN!
How to deal with my conscience, knowing I would have it all to myself....difficult....nah, bollocks is it, cheers!!

STORMCALLER - 07 Jul 2005 01:01 - 5697 of 24230

Best leave now while still vaguely incapable, bottle taken as evidence...:-)

daves dazzlers - 07 Jul 2005 07:56 - 5698 of 24230

Multiple explosions in London

Fundamentalist - 07 Jul 2005 10:38 - 5700 of 24230

Morning all

terrible scenes in london this morning, my wifes best friend was caught in tavistock sq when the explosion on the bus went off - shes cut and in shock but ok

sounds like a co-ordianated terrorist attack - hopefully no one here or anyone they know has been caught up in this

stockbunny - 07 Jul 2005 11:05 - 5701 of 24230

Thankfully anyone in the family who has to travel up into the centre from
time to time as far as I know have not had to do so today - agree with you
Fundy, it's organised, co-ordinated - if it was the 70's/80's I'd immediately
think of the IRA but these days terrorists aren't necessarily so close to home.
Pot of tea I think and a danish.

optomistic - 07 Jul 2005 11:12 - 5702 of 24230

That's it Bunny we are British!! I'll join you in a pot of tea and a danish.

Spaceman - 07 Jul 2005 11:17 - 5703 of 24230

If the FTSE is anything to go by this is far from over its now heading back down. For my part I am glad I am not in London today but for anyone that it take care and stay safe.

The scum that do this sort of thing deserve no mercy.

stockbunny - 07 Jul 2005 11:31 - 5704 of 24230

I'll raise my tea cup to that Spacie.

stockbunny - 07 Jul 2005 12:02 - 5705 of 24230

Roast beef or chicken, yorkshires, roast tatties, veggies etc
followed by a chocolate sponge pud with custard this lunch time
because I think everyone could do with some comfort food with all the
horrible news this morning.
(Haddock fish fingers also available and salmon fillets)

jj50 - 07 Jul 2005 12:07 - 5706 of 24230

Afternoon all. What a sad day.

Just hoping everyone is OK - Spacie,
good to know you were not in the city.

stockbunny - 07 Jul 2005 15:28 - 5707 of 24230

Youngest son home early - they sent those who could walk home, others
still there until transport and parents are known to be OK. Two girls in his class
are in a state as their Dads were travelling and their Mums can't contact them
so no idea how they are.

Just last week (thursday and friday) his class were in central London visiting
museums and HMS Belfast - thinking ourselves lucky.

optomistic - 07 Jul 2005 15:49 - 5708 of 24230

It must be time for afternoon tea, anyone else care for one?

stockbunny - 07 Jul 2005 15:57 - 5709 of 24230

I would please!
Something I've noticed - slightly cryptic stuff....
