deadfred,

Well for every seller there is a buyer, and in this case it's normally Amevscap!

Not worried about the temporary reduction in production as the current high price of oil will compensate to a large degree IMO.

And then we have 2 new wells in the GOM!

Pond Life - 27 Apr 2006 16:22 - 5777 of 7811

Today has seen a right royal battle at the 28p level. Lots of people selling and other willing to take all the stock on offer. Selling dries up below 28p and the buying dries up above 28p. I reckon we'll have another RNS from AMVESCAP very shortly.
Once the selling stops we will soon breach 30p. I've been here since October 2004, so I can wait a little longer.

Pondy,

Me too, patience has paid off on SEY.

diydave - 27 Apr 2006 16:41 - 5779 of 7811

Same here. 15/10/04 to be precise. Doubled up in Feb this year. A month late perhaps but wth, nobody's perfect.

2nd December 2002 for me. Some exciting times, mostly pretty tedious, especially the "1 by Christmas" brigade throughout 2004!

Gents

I posted the same question over the road. HNR presentation today states that Tiof will be tied back to the Berge Helene for part of the life of the field. So the tie back part of the GOM agreement will come to force? Has anyone managed to get any information on this part of the Agreement revenue etc.

Regards

My initial purchase was very badly timed. I paid 20.5 p - top of the shop at the time. It wasn't until January this year that I finally showed a profit. I did however almost double my position with another wedge below 15p. This top up could soon be a bagger for me. All in all, better than money in the bank, but quite a ride to get to where we are now.

goal - 28 Apr 2006 15:28 - 5787 of 7811

queen1, i think you missed the point " 1 before Xmas 04" it was just to put a smile on the face of the regular contributers on this thread. 30p soon.Regards goal.

queen1 - 28 Apr 2006 16:50 - 5788 of 7811

Thanks goal. SWW, lighten up and don't take it so personally. At least I didn't mention the recipes...

Pond Life - 28 Apr 2006 17:10 - 5789 of 7811

The end of day spread at 29.25 - 29.5 is misleading. The real figure at 4.30 was 28.75 - 29. Not that I am complaining. The closing auction trade was at 29.25 so this augurs well for next week. AMVESCAP must be continuing to accumulate and the price is going higher to find fresh sellers. I am convinced that we are approaching the end game with this.

optomistic - 28 Apr 2006 19:24 - 5790 of 7811

Wouldn't like it to end so soon Pond Life, I think a new oil find would be better first. Then there would be huge gains here.

R88AVE - 29 Apr 2006 10:46 - 5791 of 7811

I don't agree that this share is approaching the 'end game', check out the charts the strength of the shares are still steadily rising and it is not the agressive type of rise, its rising with confidence, knowing that it has a long way to go yet...

With profit lining up to be 24m thats not including the price of oil currently at the mo nor the prospects of possible find in Iraq, the potential of this company is enormous....AVZ have not been investing for fun !

You should look and compare with the likes of JKX and Dragon Oil, these few years ago were something like 50p and look at them now

deadfred - 30 Apr 2006 14:22 - 5792 of 7811

rave this is moving on what we have just now

add in madagasca and tiouf as well as a few otheirs and you can see why it might hit the 1 mark by end of year

and that aint a ramp thats a fact as far as i can see

Andy - 30 Apr 2006 15:50 - 5793 of 7811

r88ave,

I think by "end game" Pondy is referring to a takeover of SEY.

Amevscap have a strategic 25% holding, and that would be key to any hostile takeover bid.

I for one, hope that SEY will hold out for at another year at least, otherwise we may be deprived of our true reward, and many new holders will lose their BATR advantage.

R88AVE - 30 Apr 2006 18:03 - 5794 of 7811

andy

thanks for clarity as I am new to this forum, I agree that it would be very disappointing if there was a bid approach, but just a query though where did the talk of possible bid come from?

However if it did happen, I dont think the management nor us shareholders would approve not at this stage. Realistically there is no harm of having a bid , as we can always reject it, until its right like say 10 a share do you reckon!

queen1 - 30 Apr 2006 19:25 - 5795 of 7811

A 1 by Christmas deadfred! I feel like I've been time-warped back to 2004 and all that Jazz (and before you commit fingers to keyboard SWW that's not a dig at you :-) )
