Gold rises as four-day losses attract buyers
By Moming Zhou
Last update: 8:16 a.m. EST Feb. 27, 2009
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures rose Friday for the first session in five, climbing above $950 an ounce as losses in the previous four sessions attracted buyers. Gold for April delivery rose $12, or 1.3%, to $954.60 an ounce in early North American electronic trading. It had tumbled $60 from its last Friday's high above $1,000. "Gold was supported by bargain hunter demand," said James Moore, an analyst at TheBullionDesk.com

I always felt it was going to retrace back down to 450p irrespective of the placing. I was very tempted to get back in yesterday when the sp rose but thankfully I kept my itchy fingers to myself.
May be a good time now though or perhaps it may still be a day or two too early.

DD, please have a look at the ORE thread.
Cynic outlined some solid points in POGs favour last night.

i can see no reason for the fall, but then that equally applies to SHP which has taken a hammering today

Thanks gf. Yes I saw the post last night (which I have just read) but was too tired to read it all. Thought it was very un-cynic like!
Presuambaly the 10-20% fall Hambro was talking about is being put into the sp of POG now. I would have thought it would suggest that POG is a definate buy either today or Monday.
Just my opinion of course.

those closing auction prices can often be very strange and have little refelction on monday's opening ..... surprised to see gold now down another $11.50

No it was because you didn't edit it.
As you so often say, it was too long winded to read.
Maybe it was too much Dubai sun ...
