I topped up this morning but wish I'd done it yesterday!
Nice post from ADVFN: GKP is a company that wants to be seen to be well managed and balanced company. It has the cash, a set program in some potentially promising areas, and has strong alliances. It's credibility is important and regardless of whether it is successful in the 6th licence round or not we should enjoy some regular up-dates, and news of some revenue producing wells. Gaining cash-flow is essential to maintain a fully committed exploration and development business plan. Again the links in Algeria with Sonatrach and with the Kuwait party should be helpful. Remain positive and news flow over coming months will help sustain investor interest

ALGIERS -(Dow Jones)- The Algerian Oil Ministry Saturday announced winners of its sixth round of oil and natural gas licenses, with Royal Dutch/Shell Group ( RD SC) winning two licenses and British Petroleum (BP) three concessions.

Other winners also were Australian BHB Billiton and a U.S.-Kuwaiti venture, Gulf Keystone. Both companies won two concessions each.

The government had put out tenders for 10 projects, but one of them, Bir Romane at Barkine basin, wasn't awarded.

Shell was awarded Zerafa concession, which includes blocks No. 345, 346 and 322 at Gourara basin, and Reggane Djebel Hirane, including blocks 328, 352 and 362 at the Reggane region.

BP won Hassi Matmat's blocks 410 and 411 at Ouedmya basin, Bourarhat south's blocks 203 and 231 at Illizi basin and Illizi southeast concession's blocks 232 and 241 at the same Illizi region.

BHB Billiton was awarded Hassi Bir Rekaiz's blocks 443, 423, 414 and 415 at Barkine basin and Oudoume with blocks No. 222B, 222C and 223 at Illizi basin, while the Gulf Keystone captured Djebel Bottana's block 129 at Constantine basin and Hassi Bahamou's blocks 317, 322, 347, 348 and 349 at Bechar-Ouednamous basin.

Algeria, with its large crude oil deposits and huge gas reserves, already has major foreign investments in its hydrocarbon sector and has signed over 30 production-sharing deals with international companies.

Other winners were Australian BHB Billiton and a U.S.-U.A.E. venture, Gulf Keystone. Both companies won two concessions each. (In a headline at 9;33 a.m. EDT, "US-Kuwaiti Gulf Keystone Wins 2 Algeria Oil Concessions," and an item at 9:46 a.m. EDT "Shell, BP Win Oil Concessions Deals in Algeria", it was incorrected stated that Gulf Keystone was a U.S.-Kuwaiti venture.)
excellent news. regards goal.

To summarise the broker note which has been released, GKP interest in the new licences is 33% giving and increase of approx 24p for HBH field. Also, Evo have risked HBH at 1 in 2, giving their NAV for the field as 11.5p.
Total risked NAV excluding the 2 awards announced yesterday is 179p/share. They retain a Buy with a target price of 100p. They state GKP is being significantly undervalued by the market.

Why the drop in the sp , does any one know anything i can't find any news.Is it the backlash from Regal Pet knocking the whole sector.

JP SALKELD - 19 May 2005 15:40 - 21 of 5505

jimmyb
There's no news that I know of. No changes to any fundamentals. The drop has been put down to RPT backlash as EVO are GKP's broker. Not sure that todays trades warrant a drop on this magnitude but there we are. Lets hope it recovers from here. Sat on rather a loss at the mo!

jimmy b - 19 May 2005 15:52 - 22 of 5505

It's a buy at this price, Evo being the broker has'nt helped it today.

JP SALKELD - 19 May 2005 16:05 - 23 of 5505

With NAV at 179p+ you're dead right its a buy. Problem is I havn't got any cash free at the moment!
All the best!

jimmy b - 19 May 2005 16:08 - 24 of 5505

Cheers..JB..

goal - 01 Jun 2005 21:18 - 25 of 5505

There isn't any good reason for the recent drop in price, nothing has changed, GKP has massive potential, & I am pretty shore in the coming week/months the share holders will be rewarded. regards goal.
