cynic, you could have sold the lot for 279p there and made an extra 26p per share over your 253p sale.

Why did you rush to sell ?

Its all "lost profits" - real ones, not paper ones..........

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 15:28 - 606 of 3002

silly billy! ..... just because i sold some does not mean i have lost confidence in the company .... had that been the case, i would have sold a lot more or even all ..... however, as even you in your rose-tinted glasses should be aware, the market has a nasty habit of sandbagging us all from time to time .... individual companies can of course get an even worse battering - try VOG, CNT, ROK and RKH for starters, of if you're old enough, how about ARM; there's a multitude of others too

TheFrenchConnection - 17 Nov 2010 15:31 - 607 of 3002

Surely you must appreciate you have made your point Prose; but in doing so have given more weight to the much overused maxim/cliche' that trading with hindsight is the easiest and most rewarding way to trade. ,,,a veritable road to riches . ..But unfortunately it doesnt quite work like that. ....lts all too easy to say after the fact ...Would you still be bleating the same mantra had XEL retracted a little.( as it did last week from 258 to 232 .. l think not. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Anyway i am sure Cynners knows his OWN personal financial circumstances and risk tolerance a lot better than you or l ; and will not lose sleep having already crystalized a tidy profit ......You are quite correct, however, in stipulating that mms are currently looking for sellers as opposed to buyers.........and in antipaton of what ? ...i think you know the answer to that only to well.......and good luck to you et al .......

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 15:45 - 608 of 3002

hi TFC ..... enjoyed Acchiardo, but there's another in somewhat similar quirky vein called Memere, though it lacks the pretty waitress with whom to flirt! ..... had an excellent meal too at Boccaccio, though of course in price that is a totally different league! .... have you been La Marende in recent times?

by the way, avoid Beau Rivage Hotel like the plague ..... apart from the fact that it's rather tatty and assuredly not 4*, i had a lot of money stolen from my room .... i still await the management to phone me about it

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 16:24 - 609 of 3002

all going bonkers again ..... one would like to think that someone somewhere has an inside line, but of course it could just be lemmings chasing lemmings

TheFrenchConnection - 17 Nov 2010 16:46 - 610 of 3002

ironically Acchiardo got an awful write up in the times recently/ i was somewhat taken aback as i used to dine their a lot and always enjoyed it. / and wondered perhaps if it had changed hands of late . But good to hear you enjoyed as it is reknowned in equal measure for high standard of cuisine, but- alas- also for being quite pricey. Bad news reg. theft of monies from hotel room . Nothing taints a holiday or soujourn in a place as much as being harrassed by the natives of the old town except having money taken from your own room !! ....Unfortunately Nice not only attracts the super wealthy but some right bizzarre eccentric or criminal types But if you are still in Nice try L'univers De C. Plumail...is M*d but without the need for an overdraft to pay the bill . Cant comment on Memere as have never dined there- but its title is somewhat indicative of fare ....( as cooked by ones mother :-) ...) Also relatively cheap in a town with a wealth of good restaurants is Le Chantecler and Le Bistro d'Antoine ..and for ice cream it has to be Fenocchio Glacier . .....,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lncidentally are you still in Nice or home now ? ....

TheFrenchConnection - 17 Nov 2010 16:54 - 611 of 3002

dont fret so Cynners . l can live with bonkers of this type ........Like y/self l sold my entire holding at 256p ... l am a % player,, through and through, and once in excess of 30% let alone 100% is on the table for grabs , l'll grab it and run-quicker than a whores ass on pay day .......But then i thought id made a terrible error in buying back in @ same s/p and it fell to 232 ......,A week later its 283p ........lndeed i can cope with bonkers of this variety .......

aldwickk - 17 Nov 2010 16:59 - 612 of 3002

Rick's Cafe in Bognor, does a good pie & mash

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 17:17 - 613 of 3002

i was only in Nice for a conference ..... silly buggers are thinking of moving to the Fatherland next year, which will be very dull, unless it's Munich or somewhere else jolly ..... seemingly some grizzle that there's not many places from where you can fly direct to Nice

aldwickk - 17 Nov 2010 18:33 - 615 of 3002

Try Ryan Air

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 19:08 - 616 of 3002

from london is easy - heathrow!
you couldn't pay me to fly with that bunch of irish shysters

champagne ronny - 17 Nov 2010 20:20 - 617 of 3002

flying in Toronto tonight, expecting some bumper research notes to start being scribbled tomorrow. We're sitting on a 12 share here without a shadow of a doubt.

cynic - 17 Nov 2010 20:40 - 618 of 3002

what a load of bollocks!

Proselenes - 17 Nov 2010 23:57 - 619 of 3002

TFC, yes, the point has been made that if you berate and slam someone for selling too late in hindsight and not locking in profits earlier, then you also can berate someone for selling too early and missing those same "hindsight" profits.

Everyone has varying levels of risk taking, mine is higher than some, and sometimes it pays off and other times it does not.....

I do well at it and its hypocritical for anyone else to think their strategy is better.

Each to their own, the name of the game is to make money and the more of it the better.

required field - 18 Nov 2010 00:41 - 620 of 3002

The only thing that can be said is as much as to me Gulfkeystone was the stock of last year , if the flow test is good....this is heading for the same accolade.....unless Rockhopper or Desire come up with something special soon....

Proselenes - 18 Nov 2010 07:55 - 621 of 3002

From Todays Daily Mail.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/article-1330684/MARKET-REPORT-Brokers-feel-urge-merge.html#ixzz15cOLnrlU

........Xcite Energy surged 19.75p to 283.5p on hearing it has secured a jack-up rig for its Bentley field in the UK North Sea. Buyers are confident that flow test results at the end of the month will please.........

cynic - 18 Nov 2010 08:03 - 622 of 3002

Pros - you're an ass - enough said

Proselenes - 18 Nov 2010 08:05 - 623 of 3002

Push for 300p today then ?

Proselenes - 18 Nov 2010 08:08 - 624 of 3002

All that "missed profit" cynic, you selling all that stock at 253p - what a bad move.

Never mind, onwards and upwards for the share price :) !!

Would be great to break 300p today - come on XEL, push on upwards.
