If you are still wondering what to have to eat tonight, how about celebrating the fact that the potato arrived in Britain for the first time on this day in 1586.

Chips all round please........!

optomistic - 28 Jul 2005 14:52 - 6173 of 24230

G, I celebrate the arrival of the potato several times a week :-)

stockbunny - 28 Jul 2005 14:58 - 6174 of 24230

stockbunny - 28 Jul 2005 15:07 - 6176 of 24230

Now did I say that? Not guilty Sir.
I just said there was a response to that statement............
Have a slice of chocolate cake and forget all about it.

When I am being interogated by the diet police I sometimes tell her that I had meat, bread and potatoes for lunch.

It took her a while to realize it was burger and chips ;-)

optomistic - 28 Jul 2005 15:16 - 6178 of 24230

OK Bunny thanks I will have some chocolate cake, could it be just a medium size piece please:-0)

stockbunny - 28 Jul 2005 15:50 - 6179 of 24230

Hello all, super to be in the Bistro just gasping for a nice cuppa.

I know somewhere the mice can find a home, our local Cattery has a few vacancies!

stockbunny - 28 Jul 2005 16:42 - 6181 of 24230

Ohh Socs! In-house entertainment for the residents...LOL
Chocolate cake for you if you'd like, a nice hot cup of tea also.

optomistic - 28 Jul 2005 16:49 - 6182 of 24230

Hello Socs, you are just arriving when we are all leaving. Sure you will find something left, chocolate cake is very nice. Not too big a slice or you could be in trouble with Bunny, she's weightatching.......ours.

Socrates - 28 Jul 2005 18:12 - 6183 of 24230

Opto
I'm not worried about Bunny weightwatching, I eat what I want when I want.

Now it's time for a cup of tea and a bucket of my special reserve sherry trifle....hic!

DocProc - 28 Jul 2005 19:08 - 6184 of 24230

Last time we went out for a meal, one of our 'chunky chips' was missing. There should have been three on top and there were only two.

Well! You just can't credit it can you? If they get away with it one time, they'll do it every time. Next there will be two missing and so on down the line, sorry pile.

I asked to see the manager. I told him "It's not on is it?". He was extremely empathetic, said, "No, I don't think it is on. You are quite right" and he promised to make it up next time.

Now will he remember? Hmmm?

Socrates - 28 Jul 2005 20:44 - 6185 of 24230

Next time you'll have a pile of chips with nothing underneath them.

jeffmack - 28 Jul 2005 22:00 - 6186 of 24230

Did you look at the outboards at the shop there. I used to deal with the owners in another business before they went into yaughting. I know a few years ago Nigel won a trip to Japan for selling the most Honda outboards in the country.

daves dazzlers - 29 Jul 2005 08:49 - 6191 of 24230
