DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Kim, I think once bitten once shy comes into play now, they hopefully won't fall into the same trap as before. Personally I think I might see my over investment in this comp, actually come good and not so far in the distant future. Only got to get past 1.36p for me, it has crossed my mind to have a few more......idiot I know, but when they consolidate i shall still have half a mil shares to gaze at.,.

Balerboy,
You say, "Only got to get past 1.36p for me". If only, I hate to admit it but my average on what was Seo is around 20p. So to get my money back the sp would have to rise around, 100,000%. I appreciate that the present management are working well, but I think even the odd required miracle is beyond them.
Have never let heart rule head since. Expensive lesson, all the same, although I was not too heavily invested not like some.

I too bought in at 15/20 and 28p but foolishly averaged down as it dropped in hope.
Am way over the top in what I should have spent and stood to lose a lot of dosh, I am soooooo glad it hasn't gone tit's up and maybe come good early for me. I have found (at my cost) it takes 5-6 years of a hard learning curve to trade shares at a profit, and still a lot to learn but not losing so much now adays.,.

At this price its easy to average down and get your losses back sooner, I can see the sp recovering to more sensible 2p-3p+ level when they get into profit in 2011 fill your boots.

Hi Driver,
Re averaging down. I agree, but I was caught before as I had already averaged down all the way from 27p to 5p. It was then I realized I could chase this all the way down to the lowest sp it ever reached. Averaging down is only a good idea, if you believe in the company. Not having a dig at Biome, as I am now 'starting' to believe again, but not enough to throw good money after bad. As said, I am now positive on the stock, but there is still a huge amount of investor confidence needs building up.
I can fully understand that those who are recently IN are getting excited, but for those of us who are still invested at a huge loss, excitement is a long way off.
Those recently invested, got in at the right time, so best of luck to them. I obviously did not.

Just noticed a sell of 37,075,085 went through at 1616 hrs on Thurs that was not reported as a late trade.
The price obtained .1719. The bid at the time was .19 so not much of a believer there then!
But remember the market is a level playing field, presumably as level as FIFA officials.

Someone on a competitors thread has posted that patience is needed and that the trouble with some people is that 'They just can't wait'.
I just had to reply with the following.
Patience they say is a virtue. If so I must be one of the most virtuous people on the planet.
When I first bought into this company, admittedly when it went by the name of Stanelco, I was much younger, had far more hair and at least 3 more teeth. My knees did not creak so much and I could still see without glasses.
So please don't say, 'Some people just can't wait'.
If I have to wait much longer, I may as well take what money I have left in Biome and put it into a funeral plan, before it's too late.
Patience be B******d.
Greek.
