New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Kim now that is good news!!!!!! as I did not realize their offices had the programs to send emails....

greekman - 21 Dec 2015 07:27 - 629 of 644

I have written to Biome asking the CEO if there is any chance of a meaningful contract before year end.

My grandchildren after writing to Father Christmas asked me if he would reply, does he really come down the chimney and does he stop time (that's Father Christmas, not Paul Mines).

Not to spoil their perception of Xmas I told them that of course he would and he does.

So as not to spoil the perception of some who still hold Biome shares, of course he will reply, as for the contract I suggest you start believing in Santa.

I am absolutely baffled by BIOM's latest RNS. It contains words like 'profit', 'above market expectations', stuff like that. This is BIOM! Have they reinvented the dictionary to put a different meaning to words?! :o)

Biome Technologies plc's pre-close trading statement for the financial year ended 31 December 2015 is set out below.

Group revenues for the year reached £4.9m, a 37% increase on the revenues of £3.6m reported for 2014.

The Group made a small profit before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation, and incentive scheme charges in the second half of 2015 (based on unaudited management accounts). This builds on the achievement of meeting this long term strategic KPI on a similar basis for the first time in the third quarter of 2015.

Revenues in the Bioplastics division reached £1.9m, an increase of 29% on the 2014 revenue of £1.4m. A new temperature resistant material is now in its commercialisation phase and is providing an additional revenue stream.

The RF division finished the year strongly and achieved full year revenues of £3.0m, a 42% increase on the 2014 revenue of £2.1m. This revenue growth was achieved across a broader spread of equipment types than in previous years. A robust order book for the first half of 2016, including the previously announced delivery of the advanced analytical equipment to a regulated industry, is in place.

The Group's cash position at 31 December 2015 was £1.6m (30 September 2015: £1.7m).

Consequently, the Board expects the financial performance for the full year of 2015 to be above the market's current expectations. Trading in 2016 has started in an encouraging manner.

The preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2015 are scheduled to be published on 30 March 2016.

Hi Kimoldfield,

I also though I was dreaming, I bet Biome's rns compiler had to look up how to spell the words 'profit, above expectations'.

Mind you I can't criticise todays released.

Only thing to do now for those still invested (I got out ages ago) is to wait and see if the uplift continues!

hangon - 26 Jan 2016 15:09 - 632 of 644

Excuse me . . .but wasn't there "something" in 2013 - likely I lost most of my investment in this company, if not all.
DYOR
Oddly the share-graph only covers a few years, so I'm guessing there was a restructuring which is Corporate-speak for CONsolidation . . . . maybe there was a "minimum" level that was required to qualify. Turkeys and Christmas springs to mind . . .
And so with all this "GOOD NEWS" about, - will they please reinstate my investment.....?
EDIT (28June2016)- thanks kimofield, I wondered how their sp reached £1 - it's like pushing RESET on a child's computer game. Starting again.
However, I note that the sp has been falling since BrExit, so I suppose they don't Export anything much. and the BIOM Turnover is pretty pathetic too.

kimoldfield - 26 Jan 2016 15:44 - 633 of 644

Yes hangon, there was a CONsolidation! Something like 1 for 1000. I think there may be more chance of the Christmas turkey being resurrected and reinstated!

Greek, at the cash burn rate of £100k every 3 months, they could well be still going in 4 years time, making squillions of £ by then! :o)

hangon - 30 Aug 2016 15:06 - 634 of 644

Thanks, Kimolfield - I traced back.... IMHO it was June/July 2013 ( with some Ann. earlier - possibly April 2013 . . . the gist was the co issued lots of stock to "Leap-over plc" and then CONsolidated - so anyone with less than ( almost ) 3,000 shares got nothing.
That's what I call a RIPoff, not a CONsolidation, although to be kind . . . no, I can't think of anything.
+ TRUTH is this Co in the earlier Guise of Stanelco tried to sell potato starch but couldn't . . . then tried . . Dunno . . . but couldn't . . . INDEED that Couldn't's have always been their Top-Of-The-Form perhaps they should be renamed Couldn't plc . . . . at least that would warn anyone new to Investing.

+++Whatever happened to anyone that's managed to stay with this . . . . ?

Is that a snail in your chart skinny, showing progress since 2013?!😀

greekman - 17 Oct 2016 17:32 - 638 of 644

Sitting at my laptop this morning watching the autumn leaves fall when I decided to look in to see how Biome are doing as not checked for a while.
Looks like the same old story of nothing doing, so went back to watching the leaves fall, far more interesting.

Mind you the leaves are going in the same direction as the SP.

I'm still not going to open this thread.....

kimoldfield - 17 Oct 2016 22:11 - 640 of 644

No indeed, don't do it skinny! :o)

greekman - 02 Nov 2016 07:43 - 641 of 644

Trading update (or downdate).

I would love to know the word/comment count re Biome trading updates for, promising, later stages of development, subdued turnover a result of, order outlook is strong, reflects the vitality, coffee pods.

This company probably has one of those stamps you can buy (shows how old fashioned I am, I think they can do the same with a computer, IE save/print) that has the above words on it.

I do not though think this company is a joke as jokes are supposed to be funny and surely by now even newish holders can see this company for what it is.

maestro - 02 Nov 2016 21:59 - 642 of 644

cash burn halted and reversed... £0.2m extra cash in 2 months..not to be sniffed at...turnaround happening?

kimoldfield - 03 Nov 2016 07:26 - 643 of 644

Don't tell skinny!
