Cheers Hil, I'm a little wary, and I don't like tying too much capital up as I still don't trust the meerkat. Currently about 60% invested.

hilary - 20 Jan 2011 14:39 - 632 of 3532

It's probably the avatar that's doing it, GF. I bet if you paste this up as your avatar, you won't get so many followers.

goldfinger - 20 Jan 2011 14:49 - 633 of 3532

PRE-OPEN REPORT: Headline shares are tipped to open fifteen to twenty points higher today, according to financial websites, with bargain hunters emerging after yesterday's heavy falls, with BA a focus on strike threats.

I guess this is doing RBS no harm :-

Executives at Royal Bank of Scotland and officials at the Treasury are examining ways in which the part-nationalised bank could secure an early exit from the costly Asset Protection Scheme - an insurance structure designed to provide a government backstop for an original portfolio of 280bn ($445bn) of bad or risky assets. Two people involved in the discussions said it was likely that the bank would leave the scheme by the end of this year, the FT reports.
